UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Since it has been quite a long time since we have been active, we are going to be Under Construction for a while - trying new fonts, designs, and updating our sidebar stuff. Hopefully we will get it how we like it soon so it won't change too much!

Also - Can someone tell me how to get rid of the giant gap below this notice - I cannot figure out how to do it - thanks!!

Tuesday Randomness!

Yep, another big bunch of crazy for all of you to read!

Lunch today - went to Target and got some TV dinners - cheese ravioli. Not super exciting, but consistent and tasty. When I got back I watched part of Billy and Mandy Save Christmas.

I remembered to bring my little silver tree and my iPod full of Christmas music, so it is more festive here.

Our heat is currently working - yesterday it started to work late in the day. Then it didn't work again this morning. There is a smell coming from the heater that is gross and giving me a headache.

ETA: A couple of you have mentioned to be careful of Carbon Monoxide - and don't worry, it is some sort of burning plastic-y smell. They are sending a heating guy out tomorrow because the fan is not working correctly - the heat on our side of the office keeps going out. And believe me, in my office weird smells are not surprising - when the warehouse guys "cook" a batter (aka over charge it) the smell is horrifying. I have complained but because we are Reserve Power, and therefore lower forms of life (in the minds of Motive Power, who run the front office and warehouse) it is ok to poison us. Or freeze us. Or not include us in functions, or give us holiday turkeys (all of motive power got them), and although it is against the law in the state, it is ok for motive to smoke in the warehouse, which they were doing today for example, and even when I complain to management they say we can't expect them to go out in the cold, even though the law in the state says that yeah, not only do they have to go outside, they have to be 15 feet from any door openings, windows or air intakes. But if our guys even say cigarette in the warehouse they will be written up. Not that I condone smoking - I don't. But my point is we are treated like crap, and we get poisoned by the warehouse on a daily basis, so carbon monoxide is the least of my worries (plus the building is so poorly insulated that there is a ton of air that comes in).

Cats - Barney is doing a great job of teaching the kittens how to wreck the tree.  He is still trying to climb it and get the ornaments, and I saw Stella doing it the exact same way this morning (he goes in from underneath - I think he thinks it hides him - it doesn't). Gus isn't too bad with it but he likes to chew it a bit, as does Kirzon. Virgil and Lola like the tree but don't beat up on it. Virgil does knock the other Christmas stuff down. And the kittens try to chew on the light bulbs - but they are learning that is a bad thing because they get yelled at to stop. Lola has been down the past couple nights, because I know she really likes the tree.

I still haven't had a chance to look at the videos of the exterior lights but hope to get to it tonight.

Barney seems like his ears are feeling better - but he really hates the drops and he shakes his head to get them out every time. Sometimes a little bit does come out which is kinda gross, but mostly it stays in. He is getting treats for letting me do it, so I think he doesn't mind.

Oh, speaking of bad cats - so I got some dog treats and other stuff at Target a couple weeks back for Brad's mom's dogs and the cats have destroyed the dog treat package, and they keep pulling one of the toys out - it is funny because it is a big one. They are naughty.

I am stuck on what to get Brad for Christmas - I have a few ideas though. The good thing is we aren't doing an exchange at my aunt and uncles - I am kinda broke at the moment, but do have a few things to send out so it will save me to not have to do an exchange there.

I think I am going to try to videotape the inside of the house when I am done and it is clean because I want people to see it. Speaking of videos - here are the videos of the exterior decor, plus a couple of videos of houses we like - we like to go out to look at the Christmas lights of other people. You can hear in the background the traditional Christmas song Round and Round by Ratt because that is what we were listening to at the time. And if you don't get why that song is a Christmas song, then you must not have seen Billy and Mandy Save Christmas - cause if you did you would understand (ok, I will explain it - at the end of the movie, they are opening presents on Christmas day as the credits roll - and the song playing is Round and Round by Ratt - so, it is in a Christmas movie, and that makes it a Christmas song).

Since you mentioned heating problems, I thought I would mention that a humidifier helps. I had similar problems before installing one.

Also, you may be getting carbon monoxide which is dangerous. Have that checked.

Your outside lights look very nice. And there sure are some beautiful ones on your ride too.

Be careful about that smell you are getting. Carbon monoxide is supposed to be odorless, but maybe you are getting some other kind of fumes.

Mom and Dad had to call the fire department last year as they smelled something burning. They came out and checked things out and didn't find anything but they could smell it also. The recommended calling a heater company. We did and It turned out that the insulation in the heater was burnt. Glad to hear Barney is feeling better.

Every time you say Target I think of my kitty! Hope that burning smell isn't something dangerous.

Well done cats for wrecking the tree! It's a bit much to expect us not to, erm, explore, yes, that's it, explore, sparkly hangy things, right? and trees were just made for climbing! My human hasn't put one up, but Dogman will have one when I go to stay with him... He has glass decorations too! Can hardly wait.

The lights look fabulous!

LOL @ Barney teaching the young ones to wreck the tree. Mine have been pretty good about the tree this year, though *Annie* was whapping at a decoration last night.

Re: that smell: Yeah, I'd be worried about inhaling toxic fumes. Gees. An anonymous phone call from a pay phone to local authorities who regulate working conditions might be in order. Unless you get another job, in which case you can leave your name! :-P

Seriously, good luck with that. I hope whatever the problem is, is fixed ASAP.

Oh we hate to hear the working conditions are so bad. And this is the USA?! Stuff like that is not "supposed"
to go on. I'm with Kim a nice anonymous phone call might be in order.

Glad the kitties are enjoying the holiday decorations.

Dudes! We got your card yesterday and love it! And...the stamp matched the card! Way cool!

You can contact your town and report the smoking in the warehouse and they will be fined. Don't know if you want to go that far. When I was working and the owners of the building and company found out about the non-smoking law coming to Illinois, they said it's their building and they'll smoke if they want. I told them if they did I would report them. Can't believe I didn't get fired on the spot! But I did get laid off last year which had nothing to do with that remark. They no longer own the building and now work out of their houses.

The videos were so cool! I love your lights -- especially the blue ones. I always think that blue lights look so beautiful at night :)

Sounds like, as usual, you have your hands full! Tell Barney to teach the kittens to do something useful...like helping you with the housework!
