UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Since it has been quite a long time since we have been active, we are going to be Under Construction for a while - trying new fonts, designs, and updating our sidebar stuff. Hopefully we will get it how we like it soon so it won't change too much!

Also - Can someone tell me how to get rid of the giant gap below this notice - I cannot figure out how to do it - thanks!!

What a weekend!

Well, it was a very interesting weekend at our house. The computer was annoying as usual (I really think it just overheats, and I have to turn it off, then it says unexpected shutdown, blah blah.) We got some packages for the kitties that I hope to get some picture of them with today, we had a VERY unsuccessful garage sale (it was a community wide one, only three homes participated, and I think we may have made $10) which was supposed to run from 7-5 but we got up late, and a lot of the garage sale stuff is in our storage locker (but we still had some good stuff - a lot of glasses, some small appliances that I let go for almost nothing, and a bunch of other stuff). We gave up about 2 pm because it just wasn't worth sitting out there. It was funny because they wanted to cancel the community wide event, and a ton of people wanted it so they kept it up, but then those people didn't participate! Then on Sunday we did some work around the house - Brad tried to install the new bathroom vent but he can't and we wil have to get someone in - but he did get the other light up so I can use that instead of the one in the existing vent (the fan in the current vent is broken). I am convinced drunken monkeys had to do the construction on our house (I would have guessed another animal, but monkeys have thumbs so they can hold the hammers). The cats were CRAZY on sunday so I had to put them in the bedroom for a little while - luckily they ran in there so I just shut the door. Floyd was the only one out and I think he really enjoyed it. (And they weren't in there long - and they had water and a litter box since we have water everywhere and the litterbox is still there in case Barney doesn't plan ahead, since he is a kitten still. It is almost never used). Lola is acting like she is afraid to go downstairs again - my guess is something freaked her out. She will let me bring her down to eat but then she is right back upstairs. I am keeping an eye on her in case she starts to act strange - she had a problem about a year ago with gas (she blew up like a balloon - the vet hadn't seen anything like it), but this seems different because other than being super lazy she is acting pretty normal. She is laying down a lot but she is a very stuborn, cranky, old lady cat, so I am sure at least part of it is that she is mad I am dragging her downstairs.

In other news, we lost two boogie mats and my favorite cat carrier this weeked to one VERY BAD cat who peed all over them. The last peeing incident I had guessed was Lola, but she wasn't seen in the area - Floyd was. So I am guessing it was him (he was the one of the group who I had caught under the stairs when we had carpet). I considered washing the boogie mats, but they were literally soaked (like dripping on the floor when I picked them up), and the interior fluff wouldn't have survived the wash. The carrier was peed on the whole thing (straps, sides, etc) so that had to go too - and it was one of the new one (cute and pink). This was some sort of anger peeing I am sure - they have three litter boxes and only one had anything that could be considered objectionable in it - the other two were nice and clean. Since they love to lay on their boogie mats I am going to try one more time and get a couple more at some point (they have one still) but after that I may give up. I always thought they would pee in their tents if they had the choice - this came close to it but wasn't in it and didn't get on it. I am not sure why it was done, or why there was so much (like did they hold it on purpose) but I know it wasn't there earlier in the day so I am just confused on this one.

Oh, the other news is that we will have visitors coming in this week - Moo and Baa!! For those of you who don't know them, they are these adorable little stuffed sheep and cow who travel around, and you take pictures of them, then send them to their next destination. I am very excited - I have one very exciting trip planned and since it is a holiday weekend it should work out well. There is actually a second place I would like to take them if we have time. We get to keep them for a week, and with the holiday that means that the earliest they can leave is Tuesday, since there will be no package service on Monday. I think they will get here today, based on my estimates. Once their week is up we will post a message asking for who would like them next - so if you are interested (I very much wanted to host them) keep an eye out for that post next week.

Sorry to hear about the CRAZY weekend you all had. Maybe Floyd caught wind that Moo and Baa were coming and he's just trying to Mark his territory? Tweens...they'll make ya nuts (we don't really know yet, since our sisfur is only 3) Mom just checked and Moo and Baa should be there today!!! Have fun!!!

Oh my heavens! Your house is a crazy as ours. Do you use a laptop computer? If you do, a cooling pad would work wonders for you...at least it did for us. It costs about 15-20 at Wally world. Good luck.

Our Mommy knew you shouldn't have posted about things being quiet -- you jinxed it! Sorry to hear things were so crazy and about the pee wars. Hopefully things are calmer today.

We bet Moo and Baa will have a fun time!

Purrs and hugs,

Sounds like quite the weekend!
Maggie May has been known to pee on things when she's mad about something. She has ruined 3 dog beds.
Can't wait to read about your adventures with Moo and Baa!

If that was your weekend, I'd be happy it was Monday!

It sounds like a crazy weekend in the House of Cats! We sure hope your week is better.

We laughed about the drunken monkeys. We don't drink so maybe we can come by and fix your vent?

That was a furry busy weekend - and not always good things either. One of us (who shall remain nameless) barfed on Daddy's side of the bed last night...but we were pretty good other than that.

Moo and Baa will be loads of fun!

Happy Monday.

Wow.

I think I'd hide under the covers and not come out for days after a weekend like that. We're sending you a big HUG.....and some kitty diapers for Mr. Leakypants.

Jelly Bean once started peeing on the couch but she was objecting to the type of cat litter we were using. When we switched to the sandy, clumping kind she was fine.

We can hardly wait to see Moo and Baa's adventures! We've all been pretty darn good about peeing in the right place...but my sister Ginger sure barfs a lot! She still eats WAY too fast for her own good.
