Hunt Week!

Hi Everyone!! This is Barney, the youngest member of the House of Cats and I am here today to post for Hunt Week, that Fin at Housecat Confidential is having! My mommy thought it would be fun for me to have my very own, personal post! I am sure she picked me because I am the bestest hunter of all of us kitties! I love to hunt for anything - toys, fuzz on the floor, the other kitties, mommy, dad, random spots on the wall - anything! But lately, I have found the GREATEST PREY EVER! Mommy brought this thing she calls a "Krismouse Tree" (I think that it was owned by a mouse named Kris before or something like that) and she hung lots and lots of shiny, sparkly toys on it for me! I ♥LOVE♥ to hunt them. They are fairly easy to get to but hard to catch because they are very clever - when you try to grab them they move away, but then they go back to the spot, so you try again and again! It is so FUN!!

So, eventually, if you are lucky like me, you can manage to knock the shiny toy off it's high perch - and then you can stalk it! And then, after stalking it, you can POUNCE on it!! I love these toys so much! The extra cool thing is they make this awesome clackity noise on the floor - begging you to attack them!

The only problem I have found, is that if mommy sees me hunting the shiny toys she gets upset and I get squirted with water. She must be friends with these toys or something. But when she isn't home - they are in big trouble! I hope to someday get to the toys that are very far up - right now I only can hunt the lower ones. But I will figure out how to get those high toys - they just sit there and taunt me all day but I will show them soon enough!!

As you can see she has NO pictures of my successful hunts to use. But that is ok because I know I am a great hunter! Just imagine how good I will be when I am a full grown Mancat!!

So, that is my Hunt Week post - it was so FUN! Thanks for the great idea Fin! Mommy said I was a very good boy and did a good job with this so maybe I will get to post again sometime - YAY! She also said that she thinks the other three should get a turn too - BOO! I know what Virgil will post about - his girlfriend! I am not into that yet, although there are a LOT of beautiful ladycats out there. I think I have to wait a while til I am an old man, like at least 1, before I think about that. But there are a few cuties out there. Hi Ladies

Tomorrow mommy will be back to regular posting and she said she will try to have some new pictures to post later today if we all cooperate - not likely right now - there is too much excitement going on!!
