UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Since it has been quite a long time since we have been active, we are going to be Under Construction for a while - trying new fonts, designs, and updating our sidebar stuff. Hopefully we will get it how we like it soon so it won't change too much!

Also - Can someone tell me how to get rid of the giant gap below this notice - I cannot figure out how to do it - thanks!!

Hi Everyone!

Well, I hope you enjoyed Barney's post yesterday - he really is a good hunter. I hope to have another post next week from Virgil - he would like to do a special post for Danielle, because he just adores her!

So even with all the excitement of Christmas I have to admit I am a bit sad lately. I miss Floyd a lot, and there are so many sick kitties and doggies (and their people too) out there, and a few even had to go to the bridge. I really wish that for Christmas every kitty and dog and person out there who is sick would get well.

I have seen some people posting "Flashback Friday's" and while I am not planning on doind a Friday one, I am thinking I will do one for Christmas. I was looking at the old posts and saw that yesterday was the one year anniversary of Virgil's hoo-ha-ectomy. He has become such a wonderful mancat - he was a crazy little biter (like Barney) when he was little but now he is just so sweet. He is the smallest but has a big personality! He is also a very beautiful cat - his fur is so shiny compared to the others. And he is even getting more snuggly! When he decides to sit by me and snuggle, all other stuff goes out the window until he decided to move. The other three will snuggle no problem but with him it is rare so I try to keep it going as long as possible. He is still a bit naughty though (not like Barney though) because he will chase his sister like a crazy man. He even tries to get at her through the tree because she loves to sit on that couch arm (you saw the pics a few days back).

Kirzon is still crazy at night - he just sits and stares and I can't sleep. I move him, he goes back and stares, I put him on the floor, back up to stare. It is at the point where I have had to squirt him with the bottle to get him to stay off the bed. I am not sure what is up but this only started after Floyd left so I am sure it is related. I can't even get him to lay down - and when he finally decides to go to sleep (if I haven't squirted him to get him to leave - which in all honesty is extremely rare) he doesn't even sleep by me most of the time!

Oh, there was one time he did - I thought it was Barney next to me because it was a spot he likes, but it was Kirzon! And Barney was next to him - I couldn't believe it! They will both sit by me together downstairs - and each one tries to get a better spot to be the alpha cat of the lap. It is hilarious because it is so obvious what they are doing.

Like I said earlier, I really miss Floyd a lot. I would give anything to have him back right now (well, except one of the other cats of course). But I also think I am ready for a new kitten. I don't think Brad is yet but hopefully soon he will be because if you think about it, it isn't too long until spring comes and kittens start to show up. I would love to get another young one, like we did with Barney and Virgil. I would love an orange girl kitty, but honestly I would love any kittien that comes along and needs a good home. I know a lot of older kitties need good homes but honestly in our house I think a kitten would do better because of the older two - they both tolerate the kittens, but if a cat is anywhere near the house (which isn't often but has been known to happen on occasion) they FREAK out. I think it is the whole ranking thing - kittens are no threat to their position in the pecking order - no matter how much they want to be alphacat! But an adult - that could be a problem for them so the really don't like them around the house. And then by the time the kitten is bigger, they are already established in their order in the house (unless you are Barney, who is always trying for Alpha - and failing might I add - Kirzon tolerates it for about a second and then he shows him who is boss).

So, I don't have any new pictures - not because of the kitties but because of the boyfriend running out of gas. I had to go get him, so I didn't really get any pictures (or do the cleaning I planned to do either). We have a big weekend planned - including a visit to the Zoo for their Christmas celebration stuff, which I hope to get some pictures of - so hopefully I will have some soon.

I am also working on NKC (Naughty Kitty Club) stuff but got a little behind on badges - if you are waiting on them I will get them to you asap! I am hoping by Monday at the latest! And if you would like to join the group you can click on Barney or Virgil's badges in the sidebar to get to the club blog.

Have a great weekend!!

I understand your missing Floyd. Thia is where I was last Christmas with Wizard. It is a little better this year, until one of us slips and calls Kirby Wizard.

I'm sorry you are missing your kitty. I know how that feels.

I just adopted an older girl a month ago. It is taking her a while to adjust to my other four. I understand the kitten idea. It's just that there are so many older cats ... and kittens ... out there.

Whichever you decide, it's a good thing.

The mom has a been a bit down lately over TT Girl too, we fink she will always miss her TT but also we know TT is all better now.

Kirzon sounds like he is upset. Have you tried feliway? Cats do get depressed over the loss of another which would explain Kirzon's odd behaviour.

Oh Barney looks so cute with you beautiful white tree and the colorful ornaments. I love how you decorate for the season.
Hunny Bunny sits on the bed and stares also...I try to get her to lay next to me but she wants to sit and stare. She does sleep on top of my shoulder which I like...I pet her big white fuzzy paws and she gives me nose kisses.
I wanted to tell you how much we love you, you are a kind and treasured friend. How gentle you comforted Lorianna, yes a sweet friend indeed...we do not visit as much as we wish we could but you are always in our heart.
Misses Peach would like to join the naugthy kitty cat club please because she is holding me hostage her in the cozy cottage parlor. Taking over command of my new sofa and my end table has been cleared of all my stuff so she can jump around on it. I no longer have a life in my front room...it is all about her. Sigh....so be it.
Love Karla

We know how much you are missing Floyd but he is with you in spirit. We're missing those who've crossed the Bridge too. Glad that your other kitties can help put a smile on your face during the holidays though!

I understand about missing Floyd a lot right now. I think Kirzon may be missing him, too.

We understand how much you must be missing Floyd at this time. We always think that Christmas is the worst time to feel the aching loss of missing loved ones.

You could always do what I did to get a kitten. I sulked and sulked and turned every conversation around to be about kittens. In the end I got two :D

Hi Amy,
We so understand your missing Floyd. It's always hard losing someone yoo love ~ but it's even harder at Chrismouse. Big warm((((((HUGS))))) from Mom and PURRS from us.
We are so glad you have all those other scrappy, gorjuss, norty little cats to keep yoo company and snuggle. We know Barney keeps yoo on yoor toes ~ and that's a good thing. He's preshus.
We think a noo kitten would be wonderful ~ and it would help something good come from something so sad (Floyd's death). We think Floyd would approve and it would make him happy.

So have a lovely weekend, remember lovely memories of Floyd and how happy a life he had, smoochie Barney for us ('cos we LOVE him), and say a friendly hello to the rest of the gang.

This is such a hard time of year, especially that first Christmas without your baby. Purrs to all of you.

Yep, I agree with the others and we know you miss Floyd, we were there last year too. Don't squirt Kirzon too much, he will end up not trusting you...he is just sad too.

Hi Amy,
I understand about missing your dear Floyd. I miss my Tookie too. :(
Yes, I do think Kirzon may be having some emotional thing going on. Maybe he feels the need to watch over you?
I know a staring cat can give you the "wiggins" (Buffy term) but, maybe if you ignore it he'll give up. Unless he's very stubborn like Cody!
I love the pictures of Barney with the tree. He's such a cute little boy.
This has been a rough time of year hasn't it? I hope things get better for all of us for 2010. Thank goodness we have memories and that Love never fades.
My husband, the armchair physicists says that we are energy and energy can't be destroyed, just moved to another place. I find odd comfort in that.
Okay... I've been way too wordy!
I hope you and Brad and your kitties have a great Holiday week and I'll try to pop in again soon.
Hugs,
Lorianna
