UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Since it has been quite a long time since we have been active, we are going to be Under Construction for a while - trying new fonts, designs, and updating our sidebar stuff. Hopefully we will get it how we like it soon so it won't change too much!

Also - Can someone tell me how to get rid of the giant gap below this notice - I cannot figure out how to do it - thanks!!

Our Second Blogoversary

Wow, it is hard to believe that we have been blogging for two years now. I can't believe I actually kept it up - I am so bad about that kind of thing. I have started a bunch of blogs - this is the first one I kept up!

I can't believe, looking back, how much has changed since our first post. The first post, Meet the Cats was just pictures of everyone - at the time that included Floyd, Kirzon, Lola and our newest (at the time) family member Virgil. Our second post, About the Cats is where I really introduced them. It is funny to read because 1) I got the date wrong for Virgil's gotcha day (I know it was a Saturday and the Saturday before the first post was 8/2, but I said 8/4), and 2) I mention Kirzon going on the counters - he only did it a couple times and I totally had forgotten that he had gone up there before Virgil did. Virgil is up there all the time (knowing he shouldn't be) so maybe that is why. I had originally started the blog so that Kelly and everyone at the Vets office could keep up with Virgil. Who would have guessed that we would meet so may other awesome blogging cats and dogs (and other animals too!) At the time I had no idea others blogged about their pets (or if they are the pets, blogged about their owners!) We went for a LONG time without visitors - at least visitors who commented on the blog (I know Kelly was visiting because she would notice things and mention them when we were at the vets office - we were there a lot with Floyd). Our first comments really started to appear on January 22, 2009 (ok, there is one older but that doesn't count because it is not related to the blog - but I ok'd it anyway - and there are some on older posts, but I went by comment date, so that is where 1/22 came from). That was the day that Virgil made it to Cute Overload. And that is when I started to learn that there were other cat bloggers (and eventually leard about dog bloggers too).

It has been so great to have this blog, and to have met so many wonderful bloggers. I have been lucky - I haven't really had much spam or too many mean comments to deal with. But I have met so many wonderful, caring, generous, good hearted people - and I am so happy about that. You have been through so much with us - good times (like when I announced that we were getting another kitten, and then when we introduced you to our next newbies, and sad times, like when Floyd had to go to the bridge. I cannot tell you how much it helped to know that you were all out there for us all. We have made tons of new friends, some who have stopped blogging, some who only blogged for a very short time, some who still blog on very rare occasions. Some of you are new friends, some of you have been here from near the begining (well, ok, since like 1/22/09 unless of course you were lurking and we didn't know it!). We are sad that so many of our blog friends have stopped but we are glad that we still have so many of you here!

Anyway, enough with the sappy - what kind of blogoversary would this be without a bunch of pictures from our two years so far - with hopefully many more to come! Enjoy!

Oh, and we do have a vet appointment today for Gus, Stella and Kirzon - but I won't be posting an update til Sunday (I am actually creating this post ahead of time so I have it done!) And I will also have a fun announcement (well, I hope to at least) of something I am kind of stealing from another blog that I think will be fun for everyone! That will either be Sunday or Tuesday. Monday is a non-cat post because it would have been my parents 42nd anniversary, and I found something cool I want to post on that day.

Ok, here are the pictures!
