Hi Everyone! First, this is basically a random post - I just thought it was nice to have the title be Things this time - don't ask me why.
I think it is cool that a bunch of you checked out the link to Blue Buddha and the kitty armour. They are one of the sites I order my chainmail rings from and I follow their blog too. Their mascot is a kitty so they are obviously cool (doggie would also have been acceptable of course). I would recommend them to anyone (and their instructions are wonderful too).
So lets see, what is up with the cats. Trixie is a total snugglebug and she deals with all the older, bigger cats well. Barney is a bopper (he has been known to just randomly smack the others for no reason - I think he wants to play but they don't get it). It doesn't even phase Trixie. She will chase the others as much as they chase her and will even start it sometimes - she loves to play so much. Her belly fur is growing back from her ladygardenectomy, but one of the disolving stitches is working its way out - it isn't bad or anything but it FREAKS ME OUT and I can't even talk about it to Brad without him cringing. I hope it falls out soon!
Barney's second birthday is coming up on May 16 - we think he was probably born right around that day. We will be having a big party and hope you will all be there! I can still remember the first time I saw him at the vets - someone had left him there at their door in a box, and he needed a forever home. He was so cute, and I was there with one of the other cats for an appointment. I fell in love, called Brad on the drive home to talk about it and we decide to make him our baby! So as I drove I tried to pick a name - I of course had my girl name picked out (Trixie) but didn't have a boys - so I started to go through the TV shows I liked by day - I found it on Monday night (How I Met Your Mother) with Barney. And boy, it is a perfect name for him. I called the vet as soon as I got home and then was able to pick him up a few days later. Anyway, I will have more, including his baby pictures, as we lead up to his big second birthday party.
Speaking of pictures, I will try and get some posted - I really need to do that post about the toy exchange too (I feel guilty I haven't worked on it but I haven't had a chance). I haven't taken any lately so I will get right on that!
Lola has been super crabby lately and peeing again - she seems to be feeling ok but it has been raining a lot here and she isn't a fan of rain at all - she thinks all rain mean storms will be coming. Hopefully a few days of nice weather will put her in a better mood. I have also been playing one of her favorite games with her - chase the laser pointer. She could hear the button on it click from a mile away. Oh, fun fact - the one I use in her room is a green laser pointer. I got it with my geekpoints at ThinkGeek because yes, I am that much of a nerd. My next goal - either a blue or the blue-lavender one (such a pretty color). When the rest play it is your standard red (and so you know I am SUPER careful with all, but especially the green one - luckily I am a pro at NOT getting it in their eyes).
Kirzon is a crazy old mancat. He now drinks from their upstairs fountain directly where the water comes out - it is so funny. He is getting nasty breath again so I broke down and am trying some of the dental spray stuff - he hates it but he hasn't tried to kill me over it either. It is supposed both prevent dental problems and be soothing, so I think that is why I am still alive.
Oh, I haven't posted Randomness much lately, so lets see, lunch is a sandwich - turkey and havarti with horseradish spread on seeded rye, and chocolate pudding. And of course a Dr. Pepper. I switched to sandwiches because they are way cheaper then TV dinners - which aren't to pricey in themselves, but I also got sick of them.
Ok, back to cats. Gus is his usual, German self. He loves to play with Trixie and sleeps near her a lot. He always checks the ceiling fan for bubbles before bed (when I blow bubbles for them to play with they are attracted to the fan in the updraft so he seems to think they originate there) and he is still a jewel thief.
Stella is doing good - we talked about it and decided that it is best for her to be friends with all the mancats who are interested in her - because that way she won't have to hurt anyones feelings. She wanted to just date all of them but I said no, she should just be friends and see what happens. She was so flattered though, and hopes that all the mancats will stop by the party for Barney and say hi to her. She also said that "they are all so handsome". She is a tomboy but can be quite girly sometimes too!
Virgil is good - he is the yelliest of all the cats, and of course the squeaker too. Being the second smallest (Trixie is still smaller at this point) he can get into places a lot of the others don't. We couldn't find him last night and we checked everywhere - usually I will at least hear a squeak and didn't even get that. He is the crafty one who wants to get out more than the others, so I panicked a lot, but we found him in Lola's room. No clue where he was hiding but there he was. If I ever can't find him all I have to do usually is either start the printer (he loves that thing) or go upstairs and open Lola's door (he will go and wait for me to let him in even if I am not going in that room - he loves it in there). He has been a bit angry because Gus and Stella are both sitting in his favorite spot on top of the printer - he will stand below, go up on his back legs, yell, but won't go so far as to knock them down or anything. And he and Trixie play together which is great - she is the perfect size. He plays with Barney but Barney is big and can get rough, so then Virgil yells (he yells anyway but only with Barney, and I will think he is getting hurt and it will turn out that he is the one beating up Barney half the time). But he and Trixie are so close in size it seems like more fun to me.
They are all getting along pretty well if you ask me. Lola is the wildcard but I think once the spring rains are gone she will calm down. And since I do open her window a bit for her when I am home she loves it.
Other than that, I am working on a secret surprise for someone which I am doing when I am home from work, and so I haven't done much picture taking and the house is a mess. I still get a headache from work everyday and hate the place in general but I am keeping my hopes up and trying to find a new place. In the mean time at least I have a job so that is good. I hate complaining about it all the time but boy it frustrates me so much.
Anyway I will try to get some pics up and the toy post in the next few days! And I will be getting Barney's party ready for the 16th - we hope to see you there!!

We enjoyed the update all efurryone! We hope Lola gets better after the rain stops. We'll be at Barney's birthday party too!
Wow! There is a lot going on there! Our mom gets overwhelmed with 1/10th of that stuff!
The kitties sound like a lifeline to sanity for you! Everyone seems like their usual self and that is good. We love your updates and random posts.
Thanks for the kind words of welcome you left for my new brother, YoYo. He is amazed at how wonderful everyone in the blogging community is.
Cool randomness!
I love that Trixie is a snugglebug! Family trait? Her brother Leo is such a big snuggler! He just got down from a huge snuggle and since it’s shedding season, I’m still coughing up furballs lol!
Getting smacked doesn’t phase Leo either. He has taken to diving at Star, causing her to try to give him the smack down and chase him. She’s got fast paws but he’s a faster runner! I swear he’s giggling as he runs from her.. He definitely loves to play!

Great update, and we will definitely stop by for the birthday party!
I was lead to your blog by the name -- I couldn't imagine anyone having a "house of cats!" I had to see it for myself. ;)
I don't have too many cat friends, but I do have a couple, and some cat cousins. It sounds like you truly do have a house of cats! :)
It's nice to meet you all!
Woofs & hugs,
~Bailey
Thanks for all the updates! See you at Barney's party! (I love that he got his name from HIMYM - such a good show.)
Wow, such a lot of updates! Me and the human are glad to hear that everyone's doing well, and hope that Lola will stopp peeing too. Sorry we haven't been by in a while!
Barney the Bopper reminds me of our outdoor feral, Bootsie. He used to do that with his brother all the time when they were kittens. Have a great weekend!

We love all of your kitties, they're wonderful! Lola is a beauty - we have a Lola, too, she's small & black with a bit of white on her chest and the youngest of the brood at 1-year old. Barney is adorable & we love that he's a bopper! He probably wants everyone to play. Lola is like that!
Kirzon is a great cat name! Isn't Stella popular?! Good for her! Gus, love that name. We used to have a Gus visit frequently but he didn't want to stay. Virgil's awesome!
We were attracted by your username we saw in a comment since we have an Amy (me!) and with my husband, Scott, we started a blog for our cats - Feline Family. But I, Amy, have another blog started 2 years ago that's mostly about books and cats called "The House of the Seven Tails"!
Please come by and visit Feline Family when you have a chance!
I hope Lola feels better soon. If she wants, she can teleport up here and visit me! It's furry nice and warm.
I will definitely be your date for Barney's birthday party, my sweet Virg!
