Well, the off-gassing from all the new stuff at work is still happening and so I am still getting headaches, but the good news is that the block that was up is now gone because it was caused by a bad setting! It is still going to be hard to visit because I am way out in the open but I will be able to get a bit done and I am starting today! I am so behind - I hope everyone is doing ok. I admit I am worried about seeing and sad news, but excited to get caught up with everyone because I truly do miss you all so much!!
First, I am terrible - I haven't updated about Hugo at all. He is currently visiting Ayla and Iza - and their new brother Marley (gosh I am so behind this is the first time I even saw him) at Mark's Mews - go by and say hi if you haven't had a chance (like we haven't)
So cat stories - have I got 'em! So lets see, first I bought these things called Aquagems - they are super awesome little balls that swell up in water to keep your plants watered - you can use it instead of water or dirt and they look super cool. They make a lot and you can dehydrate what you don't use. I used a bunch for my plant we are allowed to have at work, and had some left and was dehydrating them in the bathroom with the door closed so the cats couldn't get them. They aren't toxic but they do swell in water (but only to a point of about 1/2") so I didn't want the cats to get them. But Saturday I woke up and the door to the bathroom was open and the ones I was dehydrating were all over the floor - I freaked out! I called the vets and talked to them and they said to keep an eye on everyone in case they ate any, but the amount that appeared to be missing didn't seem like it was more than one or two if they did. So we tossed those (they were gross after being on the floor anyway) and I am not going to have them at home anymore - at least not in something they cam get to! And everyone is fine, so I don't think they ate any -whew! Lucky for us the emergency vet is 10 minutes away so if anyone had started to act wonky we were still ok. Years ago Kirzon ate a hair thingy and he was just miserable while it passed through - everyone was just normal all weekend and it would have passed by now (though I didn't see any) so we are in the clear.
And hm, last night we went to get cat food - there is a blizzard headed this way (possibly a record breaker) and so I wanted to be sure we had enough food (and we needed some anyway) so we went to PetSmart. There was a sale on Fancy Feast cans (we were good on dry - more on that later). So we got 64 cans, and they have these holders that you can put them in. Brad was carrying them to the car when the handle broke and they went all over the parking lot! And of course it had started to snow - that nasty face stinging kind. So we were crawling around trying to find them all in the dark and snow! But we did manage to get them all back!
The cats are all good - Kirzon is done with his mouth medicine and the dragon breath is gone (yay) but he is still rubbing so I am keeping an eye on him. Stella and Gus are hilarious - they run around like crazy people playing - even Barney will just sit and watch them sometimes because they are so funny.
Lola is doing good for the most part, but someone - and I am assuming it was her - peed on the couch in her room last night. She was allowed out but she and Kirzon were both up there for a while. I am hoping it was just a one time accident and won't happen again. Maybe she knows the storm is coming or something. It may even have happened earlier when I had to put her back up there when we went to the store - she had been out but had to go back for a little while - maybe that freaked her out (though it has happened before so who knows). It was basically right in the spot I set her down when I took her up there, but who knows.
Ok, so I mentioned earlier about dry food. Many of you know that one of our favorite brands has been Taste of the Wild - I think the package alone makes the kitties feel like mountain lions and it is one of the few grain free dry foods they like and will eat. So I was contacted a couple weeks back by them - they have a new flavor and we were asked 1) if we wanted to try it and 2) if we would like to have a give away they sponsored on our blog. Of course I said yes because I already know the cats love their food. Now, we haven't tried the new flavor yet but it sounds like something they will love - Canyon River Feline. It has trout, sweet potato and smoked salmon - seriously what cat can resist that? So we are going to have a contest in a couple days - I will announce it with more detail shortly but I do know that it is open to kitties and doggies, and well, I want to make it something where you have to answer something, and not where you have to be the cutest or best (I can't ever pick that way). I am not sure what yet though so any suggestions will be gladly accepted. We started to go with the grain free when Floyd got sick and he really liked this brand a lot - which was good because we wanted him eating to gain his weight back. And lucky for me the others actually liked it too - that is a really rare thing at our house! Once the kitties get to try the new flavor - that will probably be today when I get home - I will give you an update on their opinion of it (I wanted to use up what was left of their dry food first). And be sure to check back on the contest!!
I will be working on getting caught up soon - I hope everyone is doing good. And oh, I am beyond behind on email - as bad as I am behind in blog visits I am WORSE on email, so I will be checking it to get that caught up too - I promise!!
Sending you all lots of hugs and purrs!!

Kassey and her Mom
WE are glad every one is doing great!
Wow - that was a serious update. Glad you are back online (even if you have to sneak it at work - makes me glad I have an office and my computer faces the window not the door). :)

Hurrah! At least you can indulge a little at work again! Just make sure your skirt's not too short...
We've been watching the weather and PLEASE drive carefully! Mommy is sure glad she's out of the Chi-town area.
We're excited about your contest...that food sounds yummy!
I was happy to see that you checked in, and that everyone is doing well!
Glad that all of you are doing OK and we hope you do not get slammed by this storm.

My goodness, that was a lot of stuff happening. Being away for a few days can REALLY get you behind!
We hope those plant gel thingies smell bad so that no one ate anny. And we jus HAD ta laff reading about all the loose cans runnin aroun the parking lot!
We like the Eukanuba dry food, but will ask The Big Thing for some of that Taste Of The Wild. We get some dry crunchies as treats twice a day (we mostly get canned Evo or Soulistic chicken).
Oh my goodness the image of you and Brad scrabbling on the parking lot to gather all your tinned kitty food while being pelted by snow...!!! Oh you poor poor things!!! Oh Amy!! Yay for the pair of you!! Well done!!!
Oh and what a scare with those water ball things! That is pretty scary but glad the kitties are ok!! Phew!!! I remember once spilling a bag of kitty litter and while I was trying to hoover it up my Ol Girl (who was a baby then!) thought it was fun to play with and started to eat the ruddy things!! I screamed so much she hid under the sofa and refused to come out for a while! LOL!!
Awwww great news about Kirzon!!! Glad Barney, Virgil, Stella and Gus are doing well!! Yay!! Oh sweet Lola!!! I'm sure it was the weather that freaked her up a little. I'm sure it was a one off accident! Hugs to Lola!!
Taste of the Wild sounds brilliant and paws up from all the kitties!! yay!!! Good luck with the contest - so sweet of you to be doing this!!! I know you'll come up with fab questions!!!

Thanks for the update! I'm glad all is well! I just learned about grain-free food recently and am working on making the switch. We're trying Wellness and Nature's Variety currently.
Hi Guys, we love to catch up on all yoor noos. We are glad nobuddy eated the plant thingies and got sick.
Be sure and all stay safe in the storm.
Great update--it's great that the kitties are doing so well. We have that same blizzard, but mama is off today so we are just hanging out watching it. Mama just switched us to Blue Buffalo, which we like. She ordered three bags of it, so we have food for a while.
