UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Since it has been quite a long time since we have been active, we are going to be Under Construction for a while - trying new fonts, designs, and updating our sidebar stuff. Hopefully we will get it how we like it soon so it won't change too much!

Also - Can someone tell me how to get rid of the giant gap below this notice - I cannot figure out how to do it - thanks!!

Random Tuesday

Well, apparently Random Tuesday is now a thing for me. So, well, here we go!

First, our friend Travis from Travis Littleman had some sad news - his sister had to go to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. Travis has not got a lot of followers, and they don't post super often, but he is a cutie, and I know he and his mom could use some purrs and woofs (and heck, if they get a few more followers maybe they will post more often too), so if you could stop by and send some that would be great. (He also has a new post Here - his mom posted some pics on the blog)

Ok, so to balance that wih happy news - Moosie found her forever home! She decided that her foster home was the right one for her and decided it was time to stop being shy and to let everyone know it was the right place. We are so happy to hear that!

It always makes me sad to visit blogs and see they don't have a lot of followers - part of why I am sad when I get behind in visiting (like I am now - pet blogs alone I have 700+) because I want to try and comment for everyone because all my blog friends are important to me, and I want them to know that at least someone out there cares about them and what they are saying (of course on blogs with lots of comments that isn't a problem - two things I would love for Christmas - no more homeless animals and all blogs to have lots of comments and followers). This is why I started Friends on Friday in the first place, and also why I have so many blogs I follow.

I was just at Katnip Lounge and they are having an impromptu commentathon to help out Chrystal at Daily Dose of Dogs - one comment per blog - so if you haven't yet be sure to head over there!!

And like I mentioned yesterday, our friend Siku from White Dog Diary is having a very cool commentathon for 2 big milestones - her 2000th post and her 6th birthday and those are today and tomorrow! (And how funny is this - I decided to see if I could find the first comment we made at her blog - it is one year ago tomorrow - so we met Siku on her 5th birthday!!)

I am trying to come up with a better system for visiting - any suggestions are welcome! I am going to be slow today because 1) I have a nasty headache (and someone just made coffee, the smell of which usually makes my headaches much worse) and 2) I really am supposed to be working. I will be trying to visit tonight but I have a ton of stuff to get done at home (I have to put more lights up outside becauase I got some really cool color changing leds - and I need something around the front door - I can't believe I forgot to do that!)

Speaking of which I am repeating last weeks this week because I don't think too many people saw it. I will be repeating it tomorrow though, and also adding some other stuff. I know the holiday makes everyone busy so it is tough to visit (again, I am at 700+)

The cats - what can I say - they are CRAZY! There is a LOT of THoE (thundering herd of elephants) going on lately - it is crazy.  Still a lot of tree climbing from the babycats, and Bareny would love if he could join them (he is just too darn big). I should have known that they would be climbing in the tree - because they are also the only cats that have ever climbed up on the railing. And Gus is the only one who ever climbed on the TV (and Stella is the only other one to consider it).

Gus is a total sweetheart. Don't get me wrong, all my cats are sweet and good natured - which is good because a lot of cat people think cats are standoffish and kinda mean, which mine so aren't - but Gus just wants to be friends with everyone. He will give headbutts (which for those of you who don't know are a good thing in the cat world) to every cat when he sees them - even if those cats are the older ones. He just wants them to know he wants to be their friend. They don't always appreciate it but he tries.

Oh, as far as the cats biting wires in the tree - there are 2 kinds of wire in there right now - the ones for the lights (which is instant water squirting to get them out if that happens - though they prefer to try to bite the bulb parts - also a squirt to get out), and then there is the wire I used in an attempt to shore up the broken branches. See, this is one of those trees where the branches fold up to store, so it is in 3 parts. A heavy cat on them causes them to loose structural integrity and fall down too far. I have used wire (usually whatever I could find quickly that wasn't my really good jewelry wire) to try and hold them up. It works ok when no one climbs on them. But sometimes the wire isn't strong enough, or wrapped enough times, and it breaks. So far I have just left it in there, but the cats like to try to bite it (especially Gus, the jewel thief - I think he has a thing for biting metal). I want to try to replace it with either white wire (which I couldn't find) or my other thought - white pipe cleaners if they are long enough - they fuzzy might make them blend in better. Right now though, I have kind of given up and am just letting the branches hang. Our storage methods don't really help the tree out too much so I am not sure what will happen after this year (the tree is only 3 years old so I would hate for it to be trashed but honestly it really is kind of bad at this point).

Oh, I still have some Christmas card and stamps - so if you haven't seen yourself on our list let me know and I will send you one - there is a tab at the top with the list (and if you are on that list and haven't gotten it yet let me know also - I am always paranoid I missed someone). Also, if you got one this year at the wrong address let me know and I will update. Let me know in the comments and I will email you (be sure you have an email or link to your blog in your profile so I can do that of course!) You can also email me a the link above.

Oh, if you follow me and have a blog and I don't follow you, let me know too. I have lost track of everyone I follow at this point - my brain is mush. And I want to follow everyone who follows me but I am sure I am not (and I think I lost some that I follow because of blogger being weird and if you use the follow at the top instead of the friend connect I have found it doesn't always work - I think there is a limit going that way).

Hm, what else, what else? I like Christmas music and listen to it a lot. Oh and also Hannukah music (well, at least by the Barenaked Ladies). I went out for lunch with sales today so I didn't watch anything. Right now there is Barenaked Ladies Hanukkah music on.

I have a picture of Gus I did for him to send to Ozabella who he has a major crush on - I will post it in a few days (I don't want to ruin the surprise for her - we mailed her a copy). I think it turned out pretty cute.

Oh, we still don't have working heat, but they have the heat cranked in the warehouse and the doors to the warehouse from our office open, so it is helping keep it at least tolerable right now.

Ok, that is all for now - I will try to post some pictures later!!

Amy, Thanks for spreading the word! We are hoping to send Chrystal a nice Christmas gift for her kitties and woofies.

CC is just like Gus; he hasn't met a kitty he doesn't love. What a little sweetheart.

Hi Amy, I sent you an email yesterday to say that our package arrived, I don't know if you got it. Anyway, swing by our blog if you get a chance today we posted about it :-)))))))

Gees, the mom thought following 300+ was difficult enough to keep up with.

BTW, how do you "follow" so many? The mom has a limit of 300 in Blogger, but recently realized you can have an unlimited # of subscriptions in Reader. So she's doing that now, but would love to be able to actually "follow" more than the limit.

I don't think I have a better system for visiting!! I visit daily and just scroll through and use whatever time I'm able throughout the day to visit. But I don't have anywhere near 700+!! I don't think I'll be physically able to follow that many!! Good luck with finding a more manageable system!!

I loved your earlier clips of Gus and Stella and Barney climbing your tree! LOL!! Very funny!!

Yay for Katnip Lounge kitties and Siku from White Dog diary!!! I hope your headache eases up soon! Take care
x

Yow! It's hard for us to keep up and we don't follow even close to that many blogs, mol! We too like to make sure we visit blogs that are newer and don't have a lot of commenters and followers.

Isn't it great news about Moosie? Purrs-

If you find a better system for keeping up with everyone please let me know! I try to keep up but sometimes I get behind and then once your behind it feels like you can never catch up.

So sorry to hear about your friend going to the bridge by the way.

I like the Random Tuesday, you sure packed a lot of info in there! I will stop by and see Travis. So sad.

Oh boy, Amy! I'm with Kea, how do you keep up to so many? It takes my human bean to go to 20 in about an hour. Hahaha!

All I know is that my mom tries her best to visit as many friends of mine as possible. When she gets super duper busy and can't keep up she will read 3 posts and leave 1 comment even though she'd like to help me comment on every single one. She's my mom and I know she does her best to support me.

Very nice post! I don't always get to visit either because of my job and health, but I love the CB. I make sure I post Sweet Praline's blog everyday, but I must visit more often, too. I know how good it makes me feel when people visit me!

I think your post was great! I follow over 100 blogs and I do my best to visit each and every one of them every day. Some days I can't but I definitely try!
I also try to respond to each comment. It is important when someone comments to reply back.
I sooo agree with you about helping out our fellow bloggers!

I like random Tuesday. It is so hard to comment at so many places, if we don't comment here, just know we always read you.

Wow, that is a lot of blogs you follow! Maybe you could switch off some of the blogs you visit, or put them on a rotating schedule?

We went right over to give Travis some purrs over the loss of hi sister...

You visit 700 blogs? We can only follow 100. And not every day! How can you do that? On the other paw, we comment on 99% of visits. We spose we could visit a lot more iffen we didnt. But 700 is amazing!

Thanks for keeping us updated. We stopped by to offer Travis purrs and prayers. Also to offer support by following. WOW 700 don't know how you do it. Only thing I can think of would be to skim over them in Reader pausing on the ones that catch you eye and posting on some of those. Kinda of random hit and miss that way, but might help to hit different ones each time to spread the cheer. Anyways good luck with it all.

We just don't know how you do it! My mom takes hours to comment on 20 or so blogs. She likes to look at the pictures and read all the words! Then she needs to thinks about it all! We think you are a good friend to so many! Thank you for being our friend!

We're so excited that Moosie found her home!

We use Google Reader to follow blogs, but we keep the number of blogs we visit limited because of time constraints. So there's really only 20 or so that we comment on on a regular basis. Don't know if that helps!
