UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Since it has been quite a long time since we have been active, we are going to be Under Construction for a while - trying new fonts, designs, and updating our sidebar stuff. Hopefully we will get it how we like it soon so it won't change too much!

Also - Can someone tell me how to get rid of the giant gap below this notice - I cannot figure out how to do it - thanks!!

What is going on!

So, sorry I didn't get a post up last night - I went home with a headache and so I hung out with Lola for a while, then the rest of the group. They were not in a picture mood and neither was I so I just chilled with them.

They are all doing good. Gus and Stella are recoving well from their surgeries, but Stella does have a bump under the incision. I called the vet when I found it but they were gone - luckily I have Kelly's number (she is the nurse and also has their 2 sibs) and talked to her. She said that it does happen when they have so many stitches in there sometimes, and as long as it was normal looking otherwise not to worry. Of course, being who I am I am still worried but I even ended up looking a bit online yesterday and it is mentioned a lot as normal. I keep trying to get her to rest but she will have none of that. She is too feisty. But I do have her resting a bit more than she wants at least. Gus is doing great, he is totally back to his same crazy but sweet self. Oh, Stella is starting to show signs of a bit of chin acne so I have been cleaning that - it seems like it is about the same to me - not worse but not a ton better. I can't figure out what she is rubbing on - we have ceramic bowls and I use disposable plates for them, so it has to be some other plastic thing in the house.

Barney has his annual check up on Saturday, and I am going to take Stella with to be sure everything is doing ok. She is acting totally normal but again, I am paranoid. Barney will be getting his eyes looked at too - they look like they are bugging him again. Then our next group will be in October - Virgil and Lola get their annual check ups then.

Lola is doing great in her room - she seems much happier there. And she is allowed out if she wants - usually she prefers to stay in there though. Kirzon is doing good on his medicine, and seems like his mouth is bothering him less, but he still has about a week and a half to go. Virgil, well he is just his normal, healthy self.

On Monday we had a couple flys in the house - Gus caught them both and ate them - which is gross. He is quick though so he had them gone before I could stop him (and I had no idea there was a second til I heard the crunch crunch and saw the gulp when he ate it). He is a silly boy when he plays but he always looks so serious to me. And boy, when that boy is asleep somewhere it takes forever to get his attention - I usually have to call a bunch of times. Sometimes I wonder if he is a little bit hard of hearing but he does hear me most of the time, and he reacts to sounds, so I think he may just be a heavy sleeper. Or ignoring me.

I will try to get some pics today - maybe they will actually cooperate! They were all too sleepy yesterday to really be interested - hopefully they will be more awake today!

I am still super behind on visiting so hopefully I will get a bit more caught up today - I hope everyone is doing ok!!

Have a wonderful day!!

We understand what it's like to be paranoid about furbabies--mama doesn't worry about anything else but if one of us acts just a little bit off she's a nervous wreck! We're purring that everything checks out OK.

OH we understand our Mom is paranoid too. Just the smallest of things and she'll box us up and take us to the Vet. It's good to have Momma's that love us so much.

Glad to hear everyone's doing well! Melly had a bump at her spay incision too - it looked like she was smuggling a golf ball or something. It very slowly got smaller and there's no trace of it anymore. Maybe Stella's acne is stress-induced from the surgery? When Scarlett got it, it was from Melly-stress.

Great status report on the owners of the house (well, we ARE here all the time - you humans go out almost every day - the houses are ours by majority occupancy!!)

Our Mom would be a bit paranoid about a little lump under a surgery ouchie, too. She thinks it's still a good thing to get double checked!

Have a great day!!

ps. We catch flies in our house, too (before Mom can catch us) THEY'RE GOOD!!!
pps. (from our Mom - to your Mom) How are you liking this cooler weather??? Isn't it wonderful??

One of mine had a bump in her incision too, and it turned out that the incision had not closed in one spot and she had a tiny hernia there, so she had to go back and have it repaired a few months later once we figured out what it was.

Thanks for the updates, Amy! Glad to hear Gus an Stella are doing well. With regard to Gus catching and eating the flies ... Moosey does the same thing. Gross, but really funny, too. :)

Happy Mo' Cats Day!

Yum - I love to eat flies (& skeeters too!)

Rene said...

Oh Gus, eating flies! Sadie will catch and eat them too. At least you don't need a fly swatter!

As for Stella's "lump" on her belly, Sadie had one for several weeks after the surgery. As her fur grew in, it slowly went down. It sounds like Stella has the same thing, but I don't blame you for having it looked at anyway.
