So I talked to the vet and they were able to get the meds as an ear gel at the compounding pharmacy, so I went there after my doctors appointment (just the sleep doctor, no big deal) and boy I have to say that I like the place - they are super nice. They aren't the one our vet normally uses, but since our vet is north of here by about 30 minutes, and the one they use is further north then that, I asked if they could check with the one near us (about 15 minutes west of us) and they were able to. It was easy to find and like I said, they are very nice - I would totally use them again! Kirzon was snuggly after I got home (he always is) so I put the stuff in his ear then and he totally was fine with it - I really think this is the way to go with him whenever possible.
So here is that video I mentioned earlier that I took when trying to get Virgil meowing on video. It ends up being mostly Barney. The meow you hear is Barney, but you can hear a bit of Virgil squeaking in the background.

We hope the ear gel really works well! LC almost needed that ear gel stuff but she finally accepted the oral squirt.
They are terrible ! If you want them to speak they are dumb like a fish, but when you are nicely asleep in your bed they suddenly sing like opera singers !

That is a super video. That is why we love these cats so much, is because you just never know what they are going to do and of course never do what you are willing them to do.
I have heard a lot of that ear gel instead of pills. It sure sounds easier. Those pills are so hard to do.

Our vet in Arlington Heights uses a human pharmacy for any transdermal meds. Keefer Pharmacy in Mt. Prospect. They are excellent and have a huge canine and feline clientele.
