So I am finally posting our medals! All the events that the kitties competed in have completed judging, so it seems like a good time to post how we did.
First, we have the competitive napping competition - we didn't medal in this one, but we did get a nice participants badge for it!
Next we have the Bird and Squirrel watching competition - this is a fun one! We got the gold medal in this one! Of course, so did everyone else - we understand why - it is so hard to judge these things!
We also got a gold for the Bare Paw Fighting competition - but again, this is one where everyone got a gold! We think it is great! This was a fun one for the kitties because they got to beat each other up for it!
Next was the Mile Long Kleen Machine competition - we took the Silver medal for the group competition of this! And we each got a badge for participating too!
Finally we have the Pouncing competition! We took a lot of medals in this one! There were a lot of really fun catagories - and a lot of kitties got a lot of medals!
We didn't medal in either the Synchronized Snoozing or Fetching competitions, but that is ok, because it is just fun to participate.
And yes, I know I should have linked to all the posts for the medals but honestly I had saved them and then didn't get around to posting them - now it has been a while and those posts aren't the first one anymore. I just didn't have time to go back and find them.
So, for a few updates - Barney and Kirzon were snuggling again on my lap last night, so I didn't get too much done. Kirzon is looking a bit better but I am waiting to see how he is when the meds are done before I decide if he needs to go back to the vet. He still seems too skinny to me, so I don't think he is eating as much as he used to, in addition to his mouth bugging him. He is drooly still too, but it is much less gross now then it was last week, so that is good.
Virgil and Lola are the same as always - which is good. I have been doing a lot of cleaning on the weekends which they like, because it is easier for them to find good hangouts now. Plus I can keep my door to my office open now (I make jewelry in there and at some point a cat had knocked over the scrap bits of wire and they were in the carpet, so I didn't want them in there til they were cleaned up). Oh, but someone barfed a lot yesterday in my office - not sure when or who, but between when I was in there Monday night and last night someone let loose. Everyone seemed fine last night at dinner, so I am not sure who it was (I usually am in there at night when I get ready for bed - so there is a 24 hour period it could have happened in - but it seemed too old to have been from their dinner, which was about an hour before I was in there). My guess is that someone over ate, because it almost looked like too much for one cat (except for the fact that is was basically a trail across the room - which makes me think maybe Kirzon, because he is the only run-by barfer I have seen before, but Barney is known to eat too much and barf every once in a while. But Virgil and Lola both like hanging out in that room - oh who knows!) I am going to watch them to be sure everyone is ok. If not then it may mean a vet trip this weekend - which will be tough because we have to go to see the tax man Saturday morning too! We have a really great accountant though - so that won't be too bad of a trip.
Oh, and I have been using one of the Klaw Kontrol bags with Kirzon for giving him is medicine - he still fights it with his head (twisting around and stuff) but he is much better then he used to be. So I say it works! HE still tries to spit it out (I am not sure if my blue sweater survived the night he got a lot of it spit out) but it is much easier to deal with him - he is much calmer most of the time (except the spitting part). And I don't feel like I might hurt him trying to wrestle it into him. So we are calling it a success because it has made things easier for everyone.
Ok, that is it for now - I will try to get some new pics of the kitties to post, and I have awards and VSquillions to post still this week too!

We hope Kirzon continues to improve and that everyone else is healthy! Our human knows the stress/worry/panic when you have a sick kitty. And also knows how the vet bills add up!

You did great in the Olympics! Awesome job and pretty medals - wear them with pride!
Conga-rats on the medals!!
BTW do you stroke Kirzon's throat when you pill?? I know that whenever I've had to pill (ick) I've had to back the hard babies into my lap, throw the pill back as far as I can, clamp their mouth shut, and stroke their throat. It has also helped with some cats to blow gently in their face. I have absolutely no idea why!!
At any rate, best of luck with that and I hope he'd going better soonest!!!
BTW Thomas sends head rubs & purrs!!
Meowza!!!!!!! What a haul!!!!!!! Concats on the well deserved medals.
We agree about Spike for a tabby name....in fact, we questioned a lot of names on the trivia lists we found, but thought it would be fun to post them anyway.....there are more to come. :) xxxxxxxxx
Concats on all those medals!!!
