UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Since it has been quite a long time since we have been active, we are going to be Under Construction for a while - trying new fonts, designs, and updating our sidebar stuff. Hopefully we will get it how we like it soon so it won't change too much!

Also - Can someone tell me how to get rid of the giant gap below this notice - I cannot figure out how to do it - thanks!!

Updates and an Award

So I am very far behind in visiting as usual - this was a crazy weekend but I did get a lot done. The best thing is I got my car back finally - you may remember back in September I was taking Barney to get neutered and the transmission went out, and it along with other problems needed to be fixed. Well, I just got it back this weekend - yay!

The other update is Kirzon - and I was basically right about what is up. He is down a bit (9.5 lbs), and his gums are red, BUT the main issue is an infection on his lip - he keeps rubbing his mouth so that makes sense. So he is on amoxicillin for it - and hates that as much as the other stuff. I got one of those Klaw Kontrol bags so I am going to try using that tonight. I am very happy that is was only his mouth - after Floyd I am so paranoid.

Oh, before I forget, I will be doing the awards for the Extreme Climbing later tonight - and also for the NKC club event Strongcat Competition. With the crazy weekend there was no way I could get it done for an early post.

And I will be catching up on visiting as much as possible - it is much easier to do from work right now because I am so stressed by the time I get home I just need to rest.

So on to our award. We were very lucky to have received the Honest Scrap award from not one but two of our blog friends - Ten Lives and Second Chances and Pirulo Furry's Thoughts

So for this award, as you may know, you have to post 10 honest things about yourself and pass the award along to 10 bloggers. So, to make it easy since I am so backed up I am passing this one on to anyone who hasn't gotten it yet - please feel free to take it for yourself (and tell us 10 honest things of course!)

So now for the 10 things - I am going to post them about myself this time, not the cats, because I just can't think of anything for them right now!

1. I am terrible about getting the mail - I think we get it about 1 time per week. The rest of the time it sits in the mailbox. Unless I am expecting something, I have to really try hard to remember it (see, I thin Brad should get it, because he comes in the door next to the mailbox, and I don't use that door - it would make a lot more sense if he got it - but he forgets too).

2. I am also terrible about getting back to people - I just am so tired all the time, so stuff slips my mind. Then when I finally do remember I feel like a dork for waiting so long, and usually never do it. It is nothing against the other person - it is me being a dork.

3. I am pretty sure I am addicted to Dr. Pepper - I drink it every day. In fact, I think I will have some right now!

4. As I type this, Christina Aguilera is playing on my Zune (it is on my iPod too). I also have Brittany Spears, Barry Manillow and Schoolhouse Rock on it, among other things. There is also stuff in my music collection that I feel like I should have, you know, I should like it because it was popular and hip, but I don't really like it or listen to it.

5. I am saving every page from this years Cute Overload calendar (Virgil is April 15!) because I feel guilty throwing them out.

6. I am a slob (like a huge slob) but sometimes (like this weekend) I go cleaning crazy and get a lot done. This was a good weekend because Brad was messing with some of the computer stuff too, so it was good not to need the computer. I think I did like 10 loads of laundry this weekend. Like, I am literally sore from the amount of cleaning I did.

7. I hate my job so much that it literally makes me sick. I am pretty sure it is why I cry all the time too. And it has me so depressed I haven't even made any jewelry lately, which I love to do.

8. I don't belong to facebook, twitter or any other social networking site. I signed up for MySpace and then after the initial sign up, which took I think 5 minutes, I never went back on. A lot of that is that I have no interest in finding out what is going on with people I used to be friends with because if I did care, I would still be friends with them. And I don't want them to be able to find me either. But I also fear that if I did sign up I wouldn't actually end up having any friends on there - that would totally suck.

9. I have narcolepsy, and when I am tired I ramble - be it talking or typing. So if you see long rambling posts (much like this one) it is because I am tired. I get hypertalkative too - and I alway feel the need to apologize for it to Brad when we are in the car and I can't shut up.

10. On 11/11/11 (2011) I will turn 40.

So, those are my honest things - probably more info then you ever wanted about me. The cats will be handing out the medals for the cat-olympics later today, so don't forget to check back!

(((Hugs))) from the human, because it seems you could use some today.

There's nothing worse than a job you hate with every fibre of your being--been there and done that, for far too much of life. I'm really lucky right now to be working for a fantastic boss and mostly great co-workers. At this time in my life (I'll be 46 in April), I don't want to put up with bull doo-doo at the office. LOL.

About being so tired...If you've not seen your doctor to have your iron level, thyroid, B12, etc. checked, please do so. The stress (hated job) you are under will impact your body, of course, and vice versa.

Please, please take good care of your Self! Sending lots of healing Light.

Hi!!!

Big big hugs to Kirzon! I hope he is feeling a little better now. And congratulations to everyone at the House of Cats for the Strongcat Competition win and your Blog Award!

You all deserve them!!

I can so empathise with you about loathing the day job! Grrrr! I do hope you do get time to make your jewellery - that's such a wonderful skill to have. Good luck.

And I LOVE Barry Manilow - he ROCKS! LOL!

And I so agree with you about facebook and social sites like that. For me blogging is the best because I'm meeting such wonderful furry creatures and their equally wonderful humans!

Take care
x

You know I think a lot of people hate their jobs. My brother got his degree because it was originally something he really liked...then by the end of his 4 years in college he didnt like it anymore he said college ruined it for him. Now it's his job and he hates it, the only thing he likes is the money which is why he keeps doing it, but about 8 hours a day he hates every second of his life. He's had thoughts of trying other things out but hes too scared because he doesnt know if it will work out and refuses to give up his paycheck, so unless he takes a risk hes just gonna become miserable the longer and longer this lasts I think thats why I'm sitting here 22 and still undecided I really don't want that to be me, desperately trying to escape my life but too scared to at the same time.

Lots of purrs to Kirzon. Hope he is feeling better. I didn't enjoy my last job either. I was completely under utilized and ostracized. I was so depressed by the job that everyday was extremely tough. I am glad that I don't work there any more. I hope things will work out for you.

Hi Amy. I hope the hurty on Kirzon's lip heals up really quickly. Poor kitty!
I read your e-mail. I'm bad about checking my e-mail and I hate to get my snail mail in the winter. My hands just can not take getting cold. They turn white and totally lock up on me. Plus, there's always snow which means putting on shoes or getting wet socks. Actually I'm just pretty lazy. :)
I'm so sorry that your job affects you so! I wish you could find something else that would be better for you emotionally. I don't feel like doing much of anything when I'm down either.
I hope you have a great week despite work be cruddy. I will pop over to check on you and the kitties.
Big Hugs,
Lorianna

Congratulations on your award, and thanks for sharing your 10 honest things! It's neat to learn things that I have in common with you! Like never getting the mail. My husband usually brings it inside but won't open it, so it sits on our counter forever. There's a huge stack there right now. I go through it about once every other month. Also I am bad about getting back to people, and I'm addicted to soda (Pepsi, not Dr. Pepper), and I am a huge slob that goes on cleaning binges every once in awhile (but never often enough). I am addicted to facebook though. Not because I keep up with people - I don't bother reading most of the status updates. It's all about Farmville, the most addicting game out there. You should play, I bet you'd love it. :-)

Amy, I just had to grab the keyboard and speak to you direct (even though it made Milo and Alfie sulk!)
I read through your "honest scrap" list and it touched my heart. I can relate to some of the things you said so much.
You are such a sweet lovely person and that comes across in your writing on the blog. Never apologise ~ because who and what you are is not just fine, it's charming.
I thought what you wrote about Facebook friends is SO true too. I can never understand why people become obsessed with "collecting" friends ~ many of whom they will never even meet, and might not even like if they did. And as you so rightly said, if you wanted to be in touch with people you have once known in your life, you would be. So why do it through a Facebook page?
Stay just as you are, you are super!
((((((hugs))))))

PS: If you hate your job, try to get another. I know it's easier said than done though. Life is too short to be unhappy and I can't bear that it makes you cry.
