Ok, so I have noticed a few people asking in the comments about the earthquake. So here is the info:
It happened about 4:00 this morning, and it was a magnitude 3.8, which is not big but because of the type of bedrock here and the depth it was felt pretty well and for a good distance. It was centered about 50 miles west of Chicago in the town of Virgil (I remember because it is named after our Virgil obviously). Now, I didn't feel the quake that I remember - but I heard the rumbling and rattling. I think my tempurpedic mattress helped absorb the movement. Now, Brad was downstairs sleeping (he needs to be more upright so he was on the couch) and he noticed it - he thought the cats were going crazy there but there were no cats around. It was an odd quake because although we have the 2 faults nearby (there is the New Madrid, which is down in Missouri, and there is the Wabash Valley on the Indiana side, but still south). This was way north of there, and I read in one spot it had something to do with glaciation, but I can't remember what it said. There were no injuries at all (for us or anyone else) and last I heard no real damage either. It is kind of the middle of nowhere out there - lots of farms out that way. The cats are fine and since there wasn't any real freaking out when it happened I don't know how much they noticed it.
We also had a lot of snow here, we got a foot probably but up north it was heavier. So now a lot of people care jokingly calling it the great blizzquake of 2010.

Excitement like that you don't need...especially on top of typical Midwestern cold and snow and greyness! Glad to hear no one was hurt and damage was minimal. Did the cats react?

There sure has been a lot of earthquakes lately, but we were really surprised when we heard on the news there was one near Chicago. Here in California they are always talking about the big one but who knows where that one will take place???? Anyhow glad everyone is O.K.

Geez, you had an earthquake ? We see the unusual amount of snow in the News, but I haven't heard about an earthquake. Fortunately it was not too strong and the cats not traumatized, lol !
