UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Since it has been quite a long time since we have been active, we are going to be Under Construction for a while - trying new fonts, designs, and updating our sidebar stuff. Hopefully we will get it how we like it soon so it won't change too much!

Also - Can someone tell me how to get rid of the giant gap below this notice - I cannot figure out how to do it - thanks!!

An Award!

Hi Everyone! Well, things are going great with Trixie. She is a total snuggle bug - last night she was laying in my arms at bed time, and then later when she saw I was awake she was crawling all over me! She was even brave when Brad went in and out of the master bathroom - he still makes her a bit nervous but she is getting better for sure!

So today I wanted to post about an award we got! We actually got it twice, once from Tia and her human at Cuddles and Catnip and once from our friends at Clarissa's House of Cats (yep, there is another House of Cats - and this one has way more than we do - they really qualify for the name for sure!)  If you haven't met them be sure to stop by! The award we got is the Awesome Blog Award!

So, the rules are to tell 7 things about yourself and then pass the award on to 15 other bloggers.  Since there are 7 kitties, that will make it easy - one for each!

To be fair, I will do them in order by age, oldest to youngest.

Kirzon - Our oldest cat (he will be 15 this September), Kirzon is definitely turning into a crazy old mancat. He kind of has the attitude of "whatever, I am old, so I can do what I want" sometimes. Not always, but sometimes, like when he steals Trixie's bed.

Lola - Our crazy old ladycat will be 12 on March 15. She was an "accident", a girl I was friends with at the time had a male cat, Hecky, and her roomate had a "spayed" ladycat. Hecky was 6 months old and went to get neutered, but had a fever, so they decided to wait a couple weeks, and in that time, well, love was in the air, the ladycat wasn't spayed, and 9 weeks later she gave birth in her owners bed to Lola and her sibs. Lola was orignally named Trixie (yep, how funny is that), and I feel so lucky we were able to add her to our group, even if she did pee on my bed a bunch of times last year.

Virgil - The oldest of the youngest (he will be 3 in July), Virgil is turning into quite the mancat, and he is definitely maturing. But he can still be very kitten-like, loves to push anything off shelves and tables (seriously he is tiny but strong), and boy he has the loudest yowl of all the cats in the house.

Barney - Our giant kitten (he will be 2 in May), he is still a kitten in most ways except size (even his face is kittenish). He is very friendly once he knows you, and he loves to snuggle, especially under the blankets, especially when it means he is in your way. Barney is also the only cat that sleeps on my pillow with me.

Gus - The gentle giant, Gus is the oldest of the bottom three (only by a few hours) and will be turning 1 on March 31. He is HUGE - bigger than Barney even. He is just a sweetheart, and he is very contemplative - I think. He will tilt his head an think about things - unlike Barney who sometimes acts before he thinks. He has the most hilarious meow, and will meow looking for either me or Stella - he doesn't care who, he just wants to be acknowledged.

Stella - Stella is our tomboy. She will also be 1 on March 31. She loves to play and chases her brothers as much (or more) as they chase her. She has no problem wrestling with the boys, and will start it a lot of the time. She also loves to be petted - when she is in the mood. And when she is in the mood she demands it.

Trixie - The Trixinator! Our newbie of less than a week, Trixie is just blossoming before my eyes. She braved the scary master bathroom on her own, and she has no problem standing up to the much bigger cats in the house. She is good about eating all her breakfast and dinner and she loves chicken Temptations (tuna held no interest for her - which the other cats greatly appreciated).

So, now we have to pass it on to 15 of our blog friends. This is tough, because 1) I (Amy) hate having to pick because I feel guilty not picking everyone (seriously it is why I also have to buy any stuffed animal I touch (which doesn't happen often) or that I see on the floor of a store - it is a good thing no store owners read this blog or they could make a fortune) - and why I have to have contests be based on concrete things and not just who is cutest or whatever, and anything like that where you have to pick things - too tough) and 2) I know a bunch of you already have gotten it.   So, I looked at my blog list, and had two ideas - 1) print the list and pick at random or 2) be a rebel, and pass it on to ALL our friends! Well, you know what I picked - I of course went with the rebel option! SO, if you are one of our blog friends and you haven't gotten this award yet then consider yourself picked! I also pick those who have had it but hey, we should be fair to those who haven't gotten it yet. Yep, I took the wuss route,  I admit it!

I am still working on getting caught up with visiting - it has been a weird week at work but I have gotten around a bit - mostly in alphabetical order, but there has been some skipping around. And tomorrow I will have more Trixie pics - I didn't get any last night because she was sleeping on my arm, and like I was going to move her from there!

I love these awards because it gives us kitties a chance to get to know new friends. And learn more about them than we might. I loved all of their stories. ♥♥♥

Congrats on your award! And I'm glad you listed your 7 things in the format you did - even though I've been following you for a while, I had trouble keeping the kitties straight and wasn't sure what their pecking order was. So this was a great post!

We really enjoyed reading about each cat ~ and we could hear how much yoo love them as we read it.

It's great to know Trixie is settling in so well too. We'd like to add an "adopted" button to our sidebar in the Winnie's Wish section ~ do yoo have one for Trixie please?

Congrats on your award! Well done with the seven things about. I especially loved reading about my sweetpie Barney, I reread it over and over, sigh.
I am a little disappointed though as I received one but didn't post yet and was going to send to you all. Man! The mom here is slipping but I am trying to be kind as she is working on the auction again for me.
So happy Trixie is setteling in now. I knew she would. She knows a place filled with love when she sees it.
Love to all at your place.
