UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Since it has been quite a long time since we have been active, we are going to be Under Construction for a while - trying new fonts, designs, and updating our sidebar stuff. Hopefully we will get it how we like it soon so it won't change too much!

Also - Can someone tell me how to get rid of the giant gap below this notice - I cannot figure out how to do it - thanks!!

Happy Birthday Dad!

So, today would have been my dad's 77th birthday - he passed away back in 2003. Last year I did a post for him - and it also happened to be my 300th post (wow, I can't believe I have done over 400 posts since then). So today, I decided to repost the post from last year. I hope you like it!

So this is post #300 and it falls on what would have been my dad's 76th birthday. So I decided to post some interesting things. There is a picture of him at around age 7, on a horse (he is not thrilled - there is one of his younger brother and he is much happier). There is a jigsaw puzzle, which was his birth announcment - I think it is so cool. At the time, my grandparents made a living making jigsaw puzzles - later my grandpa would open a radio/tv shop - if anyone here remembers North End Radio in Tacoma - that was their store). There is a picture of my parents cutting their wedding cake, and a couple of him with me. There is one of my dad, my mom, me, my aunt, my grandma and our cat, Mog (sorry for the horrifying fashion by the way - I was a teen in the 80's.) And, there is a photo that my dad took from inside an ice cave on Mt. Rainer (you can see the main peak in the distance). My dad was from Tacoma, WA, so he lived near there. He was also an amazing photographer - even though this is a picture of a picture (and not taken under the best conditions) you can tell how awesome it is. I think it is one of my favorites that he took.

Right now I am on a borrowed laptop - similar to the one I am getting. So I should be able to do some visiting this weekend.

Anyway, here are the pictures - Happy Birthday Dad - we miss you!

What a lovely remembrance post of your beloved dad. It doesn't matter how many years pass ~ we never forget those we love; my own father died in 2006 ~ and there still isn't a day that goes by when I don't think of him in someway or other.

Happy Birthday to your father.

Great tribute to your dad - he looks like a great father. I lost mine back when I was 23 from cancer. Dads are very special.

Happy Birthday to your dad! Thank you so much for sharing this post here and giving me a chance to read it cos I only started blogging this year and missed it! :-)

He is so cute on that horse!! I've never ever ever met anyone who made jigsaw puzzles for a living! WOW!!! I think your grandparents are just super talented!! And I can see the talent passed down to you and your dad - through photography. That cave pic - I mean that's just surreal.

It's a lovely post, very heartfelt - I hope you have a peaceful weekend.

p.s What's wrong with 80's fashion?!?!?!?! LOL!
Take care

What a very sweet tribute, Amy. He seems like he was a very special guy. Any man who holds a cat in a family picture has got to be top-shelf!

What a great post! I love the pictures. Thank you for sharing. We can tell the picture from Mt. Rainer is stunning in purrson.

My mommy remembers the 80's kinda fondly. She remembers the sizzle from the hot curling iron when she sprayed her bangs high with Aquanet hair spray. I don't get humans. I like my fur as is!

That jigsaw puzzle announcement is awesome! If my beans have another blurpy someday, we may have to use that idea...
