UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Since it has been quite a long time since we have been active, we are going to be Under Construction for a while - trying new fonts, designs, and updating our sidebar stuff. Hopefully we will get it how we like it soon so it won't change too much!

Also - Can someone tell me how to get rid of the giant gap below this notice - I cannot figure out how to do it - thanks!!

Cross your paws for Stella (quick update added in blue)

So, something is up with Stella's eye - she didn't feel well last night and was keeping it closed (and was very quiet which is unusual). Today she is acting like herself but her eye looks weird, like cloudy, so I am going to be calling the vet for an appointment. Keep your fingers and paws crossed it isn't a big deal - and hopefully not something contagious. This morning she seemed ok, but last night she was totally not herself - usually she can't resist playing blanket monster before bed (well, technically at bedtime, when I am trying to sleep) and she was not interested at all, and usually she wakes me up in the middle of the night by putting her paws on my face (she isn't good at the time thing and thinks it is time for breakfast) and she didn't do that either. Once she got going she was ok, and was chasing the boys like normal, so I thought she just had not felt good last night and it passed, but then I saw her eye - at first I thought it was the angle downstairs (it was reflecting back the light a lot but where she was it wasn't great lighting, so I couldn't really tell) but then upstairs in the better light it looked cloudy, and she totally had the laser thing going - which seems to me to indicate maybe the pupil isn't closing like it should. We shall see.

Called the vets office, her appointment is at 4 (cdt) so I am leaving at about 2:45 to go home, wrangle her and drive her up there.
And, so you know, I am visiting - my new technique is to go alphabetical - it seems to work well, but if you didn't see me yesterday that is partly why (if you are in a letter I didn't get to). I do skip around a little but try to stick to the order as much as possible - so today I start where I left off yesterday. I didn't do any visiting last night because I was watching Stella, and also I try not to spend too much time on the computer at night, so I am a little behind, and leaving to take Stella will get me more behind.

Oh, and if you haven't been, we did a little tribute to Yuu-Chan at The Naughty Kitty Club - a lot of people don't really know but he helped to inspire it. I tried to make it kind of a happy post to celebrate him - if you are a member (or even if not) you should check it out.

Hi! Mayzie's mom here. Just wanted to share that when Ripley was a kitten, he had a recurring eye infection like that - where it was cloudy and he didn't feel good. No one could quite figure it out and we even took him to a veterinary opthamologist. We used antibiotics and gave him eye-drops for the pain. After he was about 1 - 1 1/2, he stopped getting them. It was the weirdest thing.

I'm sure everything is fine and she'll be back to her kitten self before long. Let us know how it goes at the vet!

Hoping all is ok with Stella. We've had LOTS of eye troubles here, as Benny has glaucoma and recurring corneal ulcers. The key with eye problems is to get them seen ASAP, as their eyes can change so quickly. You're doing the right thing in getting her in today. We hope to read an update soon!

We're purring that Stella's eye gets all better. Tiny had both eyes kinda puffy last week then Mom realised that Tiny had been scratching her whole head and especially around her eyes so we both had to go to the VET who told us that it was icky parasites!! She (the VET) gave us both shots against the parasites and now things are much better (I had something going in my ear)...Mom asked how we could get parasites if we are at home and don't come into contact with other cats and the VET said that it happens and since we are both 'seniors', we are more fragile. Oh la la!! Just to say, we know how it is and hope that Stella is stellar in no time!! Purrs, Lautrec

We are all purrin for you .... we hope you got good noos at the Vet's today.

We also do the same thing....we visit using our Reader and go alphabetically. Yesterday we had a terrible time ~ A # & T our internet ISP decided to crash so we had NO INNERNETS! None in the morning and then it came back in the afternoon and then it went down again last night when we were trying to download the latest update from iTunes and visit our furfriends! So we are truly behind.
