UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Since it has been quite a long time since we have been active, we are going to be Under Construction for a while - trying new fonts, designs, and updating our sidebar stuff. Hopefully we will get it how we like it soon so it won't change too much!

Also - Can someone tell me how to get rid of the giant gap below this notice - I cannot figure out how to do it - thanks!!

Crazy Bad Cats, Purrs, and Clarifications

Hi Everyone! First, I know a lot of kitties and doggies out there need our purrs right now because they are sick, but our friend Pirulo from Pirulo Furry's Thoughts could use some because he and his family live in Puerto Rico, which is right in the line of not one but two hurricanes. If you could send them some good thoughts to stay safe that would be great!

Also, it seems I need to clear things up. Kirzon's ear medicine - not for his ears. See Kirzon won't take medicine - pills, liquid, nothing - he fights me til his mouth bleeds (and believe me I am super gentle with him - he just twists really violently if you put anything in his mouth). I swear you would think he thinks I am trying to kill him - it is that hard to give him meds. So they prescribed an ear gel version of his antibiotic - which is for the problems he has with his mouth. He constantly gets infections because he rubs like a crazy person - he loves to rub his mouth even when it feels ok. So his antibiotic is compounded into an ear gel - they said that any balk area could be ok, so realistically I could put it on his bald chin. So his ears are fine, it is his mouth that is the problem.

And finally, well, I have a house full of bad, naughty cats. I have an aerogarden that I finally got set up - and it is growing (perfect for Gardening Thursdays!) So I hear this noise in the kitchen - Virgil is knocking all the little lids off the plants (there are some that are still not growing - it has only been about a week). And the other thing is that Stella and Gus are being too crazy - first I caught them playing in their tent - Gus was jumping on Stella in it! She had major surgery but won't rest - bad little ladycat! Then, I caught them by the Aerogarden too! Gaah! So much naughty!

I have pics of them attacking the garden - they will wait til Thursday - at least I can have one garden cats post! I have other pics too. Some are below, including Hugo with his new collar and tag (and a close up of the collar because I think I did a pretty darn good job on it if I do say so myself - it is a byzantine chainmaille that I made into a continuous chain). Enjoy!

But everyone looks so innocent, how can that be? Wow, Kirzon, your a hand full, or two! Thanks for telling us about Pirulo, how scary, we went right over to send purrs.

MOL - someone needs to tell your crew that Scafflaw Week was LAST week! I know about the ear gel thing - my human used to get appetite stimulant for me in that form. But I hated it and it turned out I did not mind taking pills (at least not too much)! So now if I need to get dosed, she just tosses a pill down my throat. I am the total opposite of Kirzon!

I am sending many purrs and good thoughts Pirulo's way!

Yes, naughty kitties indeed!

I love Hugo's collar tag, I've seen them at the Petsmart. You put them in the machine for the laser to do the engraving ...so cool!

Oops! our bad...now we know that poor Kirzon's problem is his lil'chin. Wow, he must REALLY fight. We have some sqirmers but in the end they get the medicine...Mommy is as bad as the vet!

Hugo's name tag and chain is just lovely!!!! Well done Amy - it looks ever so good and so Hugo!!! LOL!! Wonderful!!

And big hugs to Kirzon - I hpe the meds are working. It's so distressing when pilling a cat and the cat just doesn't want to know! The ear thing is a great innovation!

My goodness Stella and Gus are really grown! It's great to see them next to Barney- awwwww!! But they are following naughty Virgil's naughty habits! LOL! I hope some of your plants survive the kitty onslaught!! :-)

Have a lovely kitty filled day!

take care

Sounds like you've got your hands full with naughty kitties! I've never heard of making meds into gel. . . but it makes sense if humans have meds in creams. Do you think rubbing his chin is a little bit of kitty OCD?? We're going to purr for him to get better because ear gel or pills, it's No Good to have to take meds.

They all look so sweet and innocent. Are you sure it is them and not Nott Me who is causing mayhem?

Deli is like Kirzon with meds...absolutely impossible. Thank goodness for trans-dermal gels!

I think it is the hardest work ever to give a cat a pill ! I try to hide it in minced meat, but they always find the pill in it, and spit it out !
Otherwise we have to be two, one holding the cat wrapped in a towel and the other trying to open a sealed cat mouth ! We are both exhausted when it is finally done, fall into the next seat, while the cat sits there and starts grooming !

I must say I'm a little envious-that green pillow looks delightful. Perhaps its time to go shopping. You might say I'm a little "green."

Hi Gus! Ozabella here! I have to hurry because I am not allowed on the computer but Remington just went to the bathroom so I ran to the office to answer you.
I think you are cute too! You are like the Justin Bieber of cats! I would love to be your girlfriend when we get older! Just be careful not to tell Remington. He is REALLY over protective! It's like, no Ozabella, be careful Ozabella, not now Ozabella, mind your manners Ozabella, Ozabella remember you are a lady....I mean, REALLY! I am who I am! But Remington is always right there watching over me! A girl needs some room!
Oh no, here he comes -- gotta go! Later!

I think the ear gel meds are great. Patches takes meds that way for her thyroid problem. She did take a chew pill pretty good for about four times and now she won't touch them. No way could I get any of my cats to take a pill. It was bad enough when I had to force feed Patches.

Goodness what a wild week you had. Sure hope you are feeling better real soon. Can't handle wild weeks when you aren't feeling well.

WOW - those are PAWESOME cats in our book!!! Being naughty rules!! (& we should know - our Mom is ALWAYS yelling at us or squirting us with water for SOME reason!!) MOL!!

**We can't believe how big the babies are!! They look wonderful!!**

Great idea with Kirzon - our Mom wishes she had known about antibiotics that you can administer via ears a few years ago. Our brother, Austin, was notorious for not taking his pills!! He wasn't as bad as Kirzon, but he was really sneaky about spitting out the pills!! Luckily, us kitties will eat almost ANYTHING our Mom puts in a pill pocket!!

Have a great day!!

All the kitties look so adorable and innocent, so how can it be that they are so naughty? Looks like you have your hands full. Makes SS thankful that I am such a docile kitty by comparison.

Purrs to Kirzon to get better.

We think those qualify as Naughty Kitty Club entries! When our fosters come back from surgery, they immediately go back into full force kitten playing! Sorry about your garden - one of my previous cats ate a California Redwood tree. Srsly he did. (OK I was transplanting the 18 inch sapling, when he ate it, but still.)

Thanks so much for visiting and commenting today! I appreciate your input and enthusiastic remarks. We too have adopted kittens, but like you, those kittens were animals who came to us in need. In addition, we adopted Padre when he was an adult, estimated to be 4 to 5 years old at the time.

We do agree with you that assimilating an adult cat into a household with adult cats can be stressful for all parties, esp. the cats. My main complaint is with people who want "designer kittens" - a certain age, size, or color. We actually had one lady leave an adoption event to look elsewhere because the kitten we had wasn't "orange enough". If people want a specific look, then they need to go to a breeder. And pay a lot of $$$.

Thanks again for reading, and for your support!
