UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Since it has been quite a long time since we have been active, we are going to be Under Construction for a while - trying new fonts, designs, and updating our sidebar stuff. Hopefully we will get it how we like it soon so it won't change too much!

Also - Can someone tell me how to get rid of the giant gap below this notice - I cannot figure out how to do it - thanks!!

We are all ok!

Wow what a night - I heard that not only one but two funnel clouds were spotted not too far from us. But everyone is good and we are all back to normal - the cats all calmed down once they were out of the bathroom where I took them when it got nasty. There were no touch downs but lots of damage from winds, a lot near Oak Brook, which is one of the big malls near us. They showed a building with a lot of damage up there on the news - and it was one I worked as a temp in a LONG time ago (it doesn't feel that long, but it was the early 90s!) Our subdivision didn't have too much damage to trees - mostly because the storms last week got most of those branches that would come down and so the ones left were the strong ones. There are branches everywhere but it is hard to tell if they are old or new - mostly they are piled up. The cats were all ok though - there were some thunderbooms later that they didn't love but they still stayed where they were and didn't hide or anything. And they did get treats, so that was a bonus for them! I just wish we had a bigger interior room to go to on the rare occasions when we need to - that bathroom is so tiny (I can touch the opposite walls at the same time in both directions). It got really weird and orange after the storm - because of the sun and the clouds - it was cool but very bizzare - and the cats kept looking outside and seeing what was up because of the rain. But all in all they did a great job of dealing with the storm and I am glad they did in case it is ever worse!

Today it is sunny and warm but not humid - I am hoping it stays that way but they are saying storms over the weekend. Blech. I am glad it isn't til Saturday though, because we are FINALLY getting our sofa tomorrow! I will be doing the cat herding and Brad will deal with the delivery guys. I can't wait to see what cat toys we find under the couch (and I can just imagine how much fur will be under there!) I am going to try and get some pics of the cats up today - I had to recharge the battery and then yesterday I got frustrated trying to take storm pics (I really need to read the manual on how to use that camera!) so I just gave up on the whole thing.

Glad to hear everyone's okay over at the House of Cats. The whole couch delivery situation and cat herding hit too close to home... We're not getting a new couch however. We're guessing we'll need one as the kittens grow up :)

Wow, sure glad all of you are all right. We don't like storms at all. It is so scary. Don't want anything happening to those kitties and cats and the hoooomans too.
Have a fine day.

OMC! Thanks cod you guys are safe! We were so worried about you knowing you are so very close to where all the nasty action was going on. You did the right thing by going into the bathroom. We have underground parking so Mom would only have to hightail it down two flights of stairs to get to it.

Oh good grief! More storms coming?? Oh dear! But it's great to hear the kitties have been very brave and have coped amazingly well! Yay for them and for you and Brad. Please, please take care!

And yay that your sofa is coming soon!! That's really exciting!! Also what you'll find under your old sofa! LOL!!

Have a peaceful rest of the day - at least there's a respite from it all for a day or so!

All the best

You had some pretty nasty weather; all of our friends back in Chicago called in to let us know what was happening. Glad everyone is safe. Can't wait to see pictures of the new couch!

I AM pretty intuitive and smart! Mom tells me that is because she and I have pretty much spent all of our time together since I came to live here when I was 8 weeks old. She works from home and takes lots of breaks to spend time with me (and now Quinn, too). Mom says I am her daemon (shared soul).
