Apparently last night there was a nasty storm here while I was asleep - I didn't hear it at all. But there was flooding on my way in, and Brad heard it so it had to be loud. I think the kittens keeping me up later then normal made me sleep deeper so I slept through it. It is times like that I feel guilty about having to shut the other cats out of the bedroom - because when it storms they hide under the bed (well, some do at least). That and at bed time Barney looks so sad. He is my snuggle buddy and I admit I miss him at night. He did sit by me a bit on the couch yesterday - he was the baby so I think it is hardest on him to add the new kittens. He is ok most of the time but this is really his first time getting a new member to the household. Kirzon and Lola are pretty normal - if the kittens get to close they hiss or growl a warning but just keep going about their business. Virgil is taking it well - he isn't a big snuggler anyway, so for him it isn't too much of a big deal to not be hanging out on the couch. Barney is hanging out in the other spots he likes I just wish he would brave the couch - they aren't always on it (they run around a lot!) and so he could get in some good snuggles. I have been trying to give him a lot of attention and I know he still loves me - he is still taking his pill fine, and he is being a very good boy (which I keep telling him). I think they make him a little nervous, and the bedtime thing bugs him. I am glad that Stella and Gus are doing so well because that means they can get sprung sooner, meaning Barney will get his bed time back. He did climb up and sit by me for a few minutes last night which is progress. And I go to him to sit often, so he knows he is still my snugglebug! Gus and Stella like to sit on the back of the couch (I have their comfort blankies there - they were on the seat but I needed my computer back and that is its home - and honestly they love the back of the couch because it is high up and they can see everything). Gus has taken to climbing on the cabinet behind the couch - if you remember the video of Barney sitting on the cabinet and me telling him it is not a cat cabinet - it is that one. And below the comfort stuff is our Peggy Blankie that looks just like Kirzon.
Oh and speaking of Peggy Blankies - I think I forgot to mention that we won the Tortie Toesies contest at the Monkeys! And one of the prizes is a Peggy Blankie, along with a certificate to the Casbah Kitten (which I already know the cats will love because they adore their toys from there - the jellybeans are one of the favorites with everyone) and a certificate for The Beaded Tail (they have gorgeous jewelry - perfect for me!) And yesterday we got a box at the door - it looks like a Peggy Blankie box! I haven't opened it yet because I want the kitties there and yesterday was just a bit too soon to get them together - but I plan to try it today. We will see!
Oh, and I wanted to tell you how funny Stella and Gus are - if you scroll down in the pics from yesterday you will see Stella hugging the table leg. They both love to do that. When they are playing it seems like it is something they find to be so fun! They will do it when they are playing together, but they also do it just as a way to play on their own - like it is a toy for them. It is so cute and so funny!
Anyway, I plan to get some videos up later today - I have a ton, I just need to get them over to the computer! Have a great day everyone!

Hi Amy and Kitties,
Thanks for your very nice comments to Emily. She is supposed to check my blog after school today. She'll be excited to see all the comments.
Ahhh kitties and t-storms...not a good mix. This human doesn't much like them either.
Madi and Mom
Poor Barney. It will be better soon Barney. The kittens are so cute. My older cats didn't take too long to get used to the kittens. Of course they were all different in their reactions. So hopefully they will all get along soon.
Have a fun day.
Barney will come around soon! Skeeter is mommy's girl and when Cricket came, she also, didn't venture in for snuggles, but mom's Skeeter's main girl so Cricket knows to stay away!
Oh my, we don't like yucky storms either!
We hopes Barney gets to snuggle real soon! I'm sure him misses you as much as you misses him.
We hopes you gets some sleep Amy, you has lots of babies to takes care of.
A Peggy's blankie is a great prize to win.
Big hugs and cuddles to Barney! Of course he'll always be your snugglebug - awwwww!
I loved your pics of Stella and Gus in your previous post - wonderful!!!!

You must have been so tired to miss the storm!

Storms are no fun. :(
The best place during storms at our house is everybody on the bed so we can understand that it must have been rough on the older kids last night. Just remember it will take a little time for everyone to find their place and balance in the family mix but it sounds like all are off to a good start. Just sit back and enjoy the adventure.
It sounds like you are doing all the right things to let all teh kitties know they are special and loved/
We'r not big fans of stormy weather, either! Purrs and hugs to Barney.
Thank you for stopping by, and for voting for Pepper! :)
Poor Barney! We know he's really a big strong mancat.
I know how you feel; just one more pup in the house, and I could sleep through the worst of storms I'm so tired!
I saw your LOL the other day. Sooooo cute! You must be very proud!
Storms don't bother us much here. We're sure everything will settle down soon between the cats and kittens!
