Barney's Gotcha Day!

So today is Barney's first gotcha day! It is hard to believe that the little bitty kitty who moved in here a year ago has grown into the giant kitten he is now! Anyway, I thought it would be fun to repost the post from the day that he came home. So here, from June 17, 2009, is Barney's first day!

So I got a great surprise today when I got to the vet - Barney was able to come home! He is upstairs sleeping in his temporary kitten room (the master bedroom) for the week. We were in my office but I decided it was bedtime for him and moved him to his temporary quarters. He did get a minor intro to Virgil - I had to set the carrier down for a minute while I got organized,and Virgil walked over. He stared at Barney and Barney stared back, Virgil hissed and it was over.

Barney is very different from Virgil as far as first days go. Virgil did some exploring but mostly just rested, where Barney is exploring everything.He went to explore under the bed and wouldn't come out, so I let him stay up there while I came to see the others. They are fine so far. Anyway, here are some pics of Barney - he is quite quick so it was a bit hard to get a shot. Plus, he is not used to the flash and it freaked him out a little bit, so he looks a bit nervous in the pictures, but he seemed to be getting used to it towards the end. There is a nice shot of his side stripe - I have to put up ome from overhead so you can see it is only on the one side.
