In the second picture I am not really sure what Lola is watching out the front window - but she loves to sleep in that bucket, and if either she or Barney are there watching and you are outside (and the window is open) they will talk to you - so maybe she was people watching.
In the last picture, it is Kirzon watching the ducks this time (there are always a ton out there) and Virgil is watching Kirzon watch the ducks.
