UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Since it has been quite a long time since we have been active, we are going to be Under Construction for a while - trying new fonts, designs, and updating our sidebar stuff. Hopefully we will get it how we like it soon so it won't change too much!

Also - Can someone tell me how to get rid of the giant gap below this notice - I cannot figure out how to do it - thanks!!

Thank you so much everyone!

I really am just floored by the wonderful comments from everyone on Floyd's passing. It is still very hard - the cats are confused, especially Kirzon and Lola who were with him the longest. Virgil had just gotten to the point a few months back where he was really trying to be friends with Floyd - he would rub up against him to show he wanted to be his buddy. And Barney, well he is still a baby but even he is affected by Floyd being gone - he has become extra snuggly lately. I had to call today to make the arrangements (we are having him creamated so I can bring him home) and it is very tough. I still reach behind me where he would sit to pet him, and he isn't there (although Kirzon is spending a lot of time there now). I've lost pets before but this is the first since I am now the mom - it is as hard as when I lost my parents. I expected it to be tough but not as tough as it has been. And let me tell you, that your comments have just been so amazing and wonderful! I really appreciate all your thoughts and kind words. I know there have been a few mentions at peoples blogs too - although I haven't commented know that I really appreciate it! Seriously, you are all just awesome friends to send these wishes.

I will be trying to catch up on visiting this week - I will try to comment on the most recent posts only (unless something really hits me as needing a comment) and will try to post at least an update on here this week. I decided that I will start back in full force next Monday - in addition to everything else going on, the new computer lasted exactly 1 day before the network card went out (hardware issue) but luckily I still have the loaner. I am going to try and get my Halloween pics up before Monday with it - I did get a couple of Barney in the devil had that are just adorable. I didn't end up gettign everything done I would have liked but I just wasn't up to it (Halloween really was Floyd's day, being a black cat, so it was a bit sad for me to put everything up - but believe me I got a lot done ahead of time).

Floyd's birthday is in November so I am going to get a nice tribue together for him that day - it is also Kirzon's gottcha day but he will understand.

Anyway, thank you again for all the wonderful thoughts and ideas - I love you all for your kindness and you and your pets (kitties, doggies, fishes, etc) (or owners if you are the kitty or doggie posting of course) hold a special place in my heart!

We are glad to hear you're feeling a little bit better. It IS hard. Especially when it was as sudden as it was. Mom knows exactly how you feel. Just know that it will get easier and he will send you sings that he is with you. Scooter(RIP) always knows the right moment to send mom a rainbow. It's truly amazing. She is at The Bridge showing Floyd around. we can bet ya on that! (And, she's probably with him grubbing some french fries, too!)

Hi Amy.
I just came by to check on you again.
There will come a time when you have a really happy dream about Floyd, were he is healthy and happy. I have had a couple about Tookie like that.
Don't be surprised if your parents are in it too, taking care of Floyd. My beloved cat lady Grandmother is taking care of Tookie and other kitties that shared my life. That dream gave me a measure of comfort and I hope you have one like it soon.
Again, I am just so sorry that Floyd got so sick. My heart hurts for you and I am lighting a candle for you and Floyd every night this week.
Lots of gentle hugs,
Lorianna

Hi Amy,
I'm sorry I didn't get to write earlier but unfortunately my mom's bunny just passed away as well and I'm here trying to help her feel a little better. She had really domesticated him to the point where he knew his name and would cuddle with her, much like a cat would to you or I. She's really devastated but happy that I came home to spend some time with her.

I was so sorry to hear about Floyd. I was reading your old posts and saw that he was your first cat. I can't imagine how you are feeling but please know that were all thinking of you and hoping things start to look brighter soon.

You make sure you buy yourself some flowers on Floyds birthday. I know what you mean about kitty death being harder than your parents. My mum was sick for a long time before she died, and I think when her death came it came with some relief, and it's progress was out of my control.

When Puss died of renal failure,it felt like I was in control of all the hospice decisions myself, and that final vet visit was brutal. However 3 years later, I know that I gave her a life of love, and that I was lucky to be able to get the vet to help her passing be gentle and kind to that sick wee body.

Be nice to yourself, take it easy and your sad memories will one day be replaced with happy ones.

Smooches and hugs.

We're so so sorry! We know how painful Floyd's passing must have been, especially since our package for him turned up after he had gone.

I am so sorry if it upset you. Floyd will always have a special place in our hearts!

Take your time to grieve. I know fom my own experience that losing a much loved cat is like losing a family member ~ your heart quite literally aches for them. My beloved cat Henry died in 2004 and I still miss him and cry for him sometimes.
Floyd was very special and we will all miss him. We know you'll do a really tribute when you're ready ~ and we look forward to seeing it.
