UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Since it has been quite a long time since we have been active, we are going to be Under Construction for a while - trying new fonts, designs, and updating our sidebar stuff. Hopefully we will get it how we like it soon so it won't change too much!

Also - Can someone tell me how to get rid of the giant gap below this notice - I cannot figure out how to do it - thanks!!

Barney the weirdo

Sorry for the lack of pictures this week - it is end of month at work and a lot has been going on, so I am tired when I get home, and we are trying to get ready for Thanksgiving next week.

So I had to tell you two Barney stories that happened this week. The first was a few days ago. I was in the laundry room, which is where the litter boxes are also. And Barney comes in and gets in the big one, which back up to a wall. He goes to the wall side, puts his front paws up on the wall like he is being frisked (or like in movies when you see a really drunk guy standing at a urinal leaning forward), and does his business. It was so totally hilarious. I saw him do it in one of the other boxes with a high back too (a few days later) - the other boxes he just uses normally. Those two he does it in have high backs or walls to lean on, which is why I think he did it. He is the one who plays in the litter (which he has mostly stopped now) so I am not surprised he got creative like this.

The other funny thing he did was this morning. When my alarm goes off he goes into the bathroom to wait for me (if I am not there in a minute or so he comes out and sits next to me and meows until I get up, but then comes in the bathroom with me). Kirzon is also a big fan of the bathroom - he used to drink from the sink but now he just sits and watches it. Anyway, Barney likes to lay right by the door (which makes opening fun) next to the wall - he lays on his side and plays with the doorstop (which sounds lovely because it is the spring kind - which I think is why he does it to begin with) and sometimes he lays on the other side by the wall because the heat vent is there. This morning he was laying by the wall - all four feet towards the wall - and Kirzon went to wait by the door to go out for breakfast. Barney launched himself off the wall with all four feet and slid on the tile to where Kirzon was to attack. I have never seen anything like it - so hilarious!

Barney is quite a character though - so it doesn't surprise me he has weird quirks. When he jumps, at least 50% of the time he jumps so all four feet are in front of him - I have no idea how he does it but it is so funny. He is still only 6 months old, so I don't know if his crazy will continue but I really hope it does.

So in other news we are going to be bad about posting for a bit - with Thanksgiving on Thursday I have a lot to do. I can tell you I will be trying to get some pictures up before then, and on 11/25 is the big tribute post to Floyd. It would have been his 14th birthday. It is very long but it has some great pictures in it. I wrote it over a couple days and it rambles a lot but I think you will enjoy it. Please stop by to see it if you have the time. I have it scheduled to post early that day.

Oh, and Duh - I forgot to add that I sent the donation for Santa Paws last night - we split it up - we did $50 as a cash donation, a $10 kitty toy pack and a $10 doggie toy pack. So we ended up a couple bucks over (70 instead of 66) which is ok with me. Don't forget next year we will be doing it again.
