Sorry this is posting so late - we got back later than I thought we would, and my computer is acting up (5 reboots to get this up). Anyay, here is our adventure for today. So today, we took Moo and Baa to downtown Chicago. We took the train in (but didn't get any pictures)
Once we got to the city, we took a water taxi up to north Michigan Avenue.
While we were there we walked past the Wrigley Building. That was pretty exciting because they make great gum!
On Michigan we stopped at the Water Tower. Moo was a bit concerned because he had heard the story about Mrs. O'Leary's cow starting the great Chicago fire. I assured him that it was just an urban legend.
Next, we took a cab down to Navy Pier.
We got a couple great shots of the city and the lake.
We thought it would be fun to take a boat ride. We decided on the tall ships, and they had a pirate themed trip. One of the pirates was nice and took a picture with them.
Here they are at the wheel.
They rested in my purse for a little while when we first got on.
They exlored the boat a little bit too.
They thought the lighthouse in the lake was really cool.
After Navy Pier we took a cab back to the south side of the river, where Moo and Baa got to kick it Big Willy Style (the Sears Tower was recently renamed Willis Tower - locals hate it and thought it needed a better nickname, so many of us now call it Big Willy)
We went up to the Skydeck and looked out the windows - it was very crowded but we got special tickets and were able to skip the lines up. This is a picture with the Hancock building in the background.
Finally we reached the thing we had come down to see - the new Skydeck Ledge. It is a transparent ledge where you can stand and look straight down! Moo and Baa (and I) thought it was super cool! It was very popular so we didn't get to stay there very long.
Anyway, after that we came home - we finally got back at 10 pm. It was a long but exciting day.
Tomorrow, we are going to go to the zoo - that should be fun, for Moo and Baa to see the animals!
