UNDER CONSTRUCTION!

Since it has been quite a long time since we have been active, we are going to be Under Construction for a while - trying new fonts, designs, and updating our sidebar stuff. Hopefully we will get it how we like it soon so it won't change too much!

Also - Can someone tell me how to get rid of the giant gap below this notice - I cannot figure out how to do it - thanks!!

Cats and Halloween

So, for those of you who weren't visiting last year at this time, I love Halloween. I posted a few of the old Halloween pictures (mostly of the house decorations, but also one of Virgil) as proof below (plus you can see how little Virgil was - he was looking outside at the bubble fog machine). This year I decided it was time to try some Halloween pics of the cats. I have been trying their costumes on them, and well, they aren't thrilled. I am trying to get them used to wearing stuff, at least long enough to get a picture of them. I am also hoping that when we go to get the Halloween stuff this weekend that I can find the kitty Christmas outfits, because I want to make Christmas cards and need a picture of Barney in a costume. He will either be an elf or a reindeer. They weren't thrilled with the Christmas costumes but I was able to get some good pictures (check out this post to see the results) so I am hoping I can get some with the Halloween stuff (Barney has an actual outfit - a bee - it is a little small but fits him - he just won't walk in it - he immediately lays down and tries to get it off).

Also, I wanted to tell a funny story about the Bolt - and I swear this is not some ploy to get you to buy it - they haven't contacted me to sell it up or anything. This is just honest feedback (I am always wary of product talk, because you just never know). I just think this is funny. So, Virgil and Barney are the two that play with it - it makes like laser pointer circles on the floor and they chase it around. When it shuts off, Barney will try to climb up to the thing - I think he wants to turn it back on. I am going to try and film them playing and make it towards the end, to see if he will do it. Anyway, the other day Virgil wanted to play, and I guess no one would play with him, so he climed up the shelves and tried to turn it on (it is a push button so I suppose if he got lucky he could). Now, like I said, I am not saying to buy it or anything, but to me that is a huge endorsement for it being fun - and since about 75% of the cat toys are played with one time and abandoned, that is a big deal for me. Lola is the only one who has any interest in it - Kirzon and Floyd have never been huge into the laser pointers - only play once in a while - but she gets mad at the other two for getting in the way so she doesn't play with it too often.

So once the new computer is here I am hoping to post a video of them playing with it - I have noticed it is harder to see during the day but that may be the light in our living rooms fault.

Anway here are my "yes I am a crazy Halloween lady" pictures - oh, and can I add that I think we only had like 3 kids come by for candy (and you can see the bowls of it in the Virgil picture - yes, those are full sized bars) so they really made out like bandits because we always give at least a couple to each kid. And it was unseasonably warm (I was in a short sleeved shirt, and you can kind of see that the storm door screen is open) and there was even a high school football game at the school which is a block from our house - and still only 3 kids. We may end up scaling back the candy because of it (because I don't really eat it and neither does Brad - we usually split it up to bring to work). So if you are a local kitty and your mom loves candy feel free to stop by when Halloween finally gets here - you will do pretty well!

OH WE LOVE IT!!! Halloween --> New yera's is mom's FAVORITE time of year!!! Our servants even had a Halloween wedding!!! Their anniversary is October 28th and we already no we won't be the bloggers for that day! MOL We can't wait for the video of the laser pointer! And, it wouldn't be really neat to see Barney actually turn it on!!! He's a junkie...MOL!!! Also, you really have some lucky kids in your neighborhood to get FULL`size candy bars. We don't get any kids at all. This makes mom sad, but she does get goodie bags togther for all of the little beans at OUR little bean's daycare!

Our humans don't like holidays very much (boo, hiss!) but that doesn't stop us from getting a zillion trick-or-treaters! Wish you could come over to our house and help her hand out candy!

We also love Halloween and usually have a huge Halloween party for the children. we get the house and garden all decked out.

Sadly we weren't able to do it last year and we won't be able to do it again this year due to mu husband being made redundant last September and again this June. He's working again, so maybe next year.

Great halloween pictures!

I've really gotta get one of those Bolt toys. I've been dropping hints to Mummy for weeks, especially since she lost my laser toy.

I'm so glad my mom doesn't try and dress me up, but I secretly adore seeing all my blogging furriends in their costumes!

Our mom loves Halloween too! But she doesn't decorate as much as you do! She says she likes to think of me and Wally as her Halloween decorations and tells us to go sit in the window so people can see...

I don't think I'm gonna like halloween this year, the door knocking humans will make me think the noisy roof humans are back.

The Halloween pics look fun! We don't really do Halloween here, not many kids in the neighborhood and our Mommy is a hermit. MOL

We'd probably like that Bolt thing...oh Mommmmmmyyyyyyyy!!!!

This post made us and Mom smile! We love Halloween and the tales of your furries trying on their outfits "reluctantly" was hilarious. We're not cooperative either and mom is always disappointed! If she puts an outfit on us we slink along on our tummies and refuse to walk! LOL!
Mom muttered something about "digital costumes" this year ~ we can't wait! (NOT!)

The Bolt toy sounds like tonnes of fun!:)

Mum put us on our Christmas cards last year. She got dad to distract us with toys and treats while she was taking pictures.

Hi Amy,
We enjoyed the bolt story....Madi has issued an official request that I look for one for her....
Your Halloween pictures from last year are so good as are the Christmas pictures. How in the world did you get the outfits on the cats?
Madi would go ballistic with something on her head. HA!
