So Barney went to the vets on Saturday - and he is now up to 3.5 lbs! He doesn't look fat but that seems like a lot for his age. But he does eat everything he can so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. He got his second kitten shots, and for some reason he was just terrified being there. I think that maybe he is afraid of being left again. He cried the whole trip up, and I tried to talk to him or sing to him but he kept crying and just staring at me from his carrier. Then he was shaking like a leaf while we were there - and he knows everyone there so he didn't have a reason to be afraid. But he was scared, and I am wondering if he thinks he will be abandoned again - I hope that he was just having a bad day and isn't afraid that will happen. I always worry about that when they have to go to the vet (especially if it is an overnight stay) but I worry most with Virgil and Barney since they lived there for a while. It is a great place but not a home.
Speaking of kitties who were left there, the little girl kitten who looked like Barney was adopted by a family who had brought their kitten in. I was glad because otherwise I don't know if I could have left her there again. Like I said, it is a great place and they treat the animals very well, but it just isnt' the same as having a home. I was very glad to hear that she has one now.
I have another of my awful headaches (they are always worse in summer because of allergies) so if I don't get a chance to catch up with everyone today I will try my best to do so tomorrow. These headaches are getting really old. I will also try to post some new pictures of the kitties today - Barney is learning to get into the window so I am hoping to get some of those. We'll just have to wait and see I guess!

Firstly, we hope your headaches go away! Our dad suffers from migraines too. Just lots of rest in a dark room, but if you work, that's a little difficult to do.
Second...we totally feel your pain Barney (especially about the car!) We HATE that mean machine! And the vet, the last time our mom was at the vet, was to let Scooter go to The Bridge, and she came home iwthout her, so we're not sure about that place. We know it's for our good, but still, who likes getting poked and prodded? Not us! Glad you're doing well and that the little girl-kittie found a new home!
We are so sorry that you have another headache! I get then too caused by allergies. Angel is always terrified at the vets. I took Kirby with her last time and he picked up on her fear ans cowered in the corner with her!
Awe! Sweet Barney, Sebastian and Reilly know how scary going to the vet is. They shake every time they've had to go. Don't worry sweetheart, you will not be abandoned again!
So glad to hear the little girl kitty found a forever home! Yay!
Purrs for the awful headache! Our mom gets a bad 3 day migraine almost every month. She says they are no fun at all!
It is hard when we kitties are scared of the vet. Mom hasn't taken me in a long time cause she thinks I am healthy, and I gets too freaked out. But I am all indoors, and Sandusky and Spooky only get out in the fenced in back yard.
We are sorry about your headaches! We hope you get rid of it soon. My mom has a headache everyday for about 5 years. The headache clinic tried several medications which gave mom some adverse reactions.
Awww, poor little Barney. Sorry to hear he was so scared on the ride to the v-e-t. Was he better on the way home?
Glad to hear the other kitten found a forever home!
Hope you get to feeling better, our Mommy has a bad time with headaches too.
Purrs and hugs,
The Kitty Krew
We hope you're feeling better soon!
We're glad to hear the girl-kitten was adopted
I noticed you asking on another blog, but I'm not sure you got an answer... THoE is Thundering Herd of Elephants... you know, how cats sound when they chase each other up and down a hall or stairs at 3 a.m.? :)
