So we did end up taking longer with the flooing guy than I thought but the good news is that we are getting new floors for the entire downstairs of the townhouse - goody! The old carpet (that nasty gray background in many photos) is very old and gross - it has been there since we moved in and probably was there a long time before it. And the previous owner had a puppy, so, well, that is pretty self explanitory. I will have to wrangle the cats upstairs for two days while they are doing the installation and removal. We are getting laminate installed - I was against it before I saw it (I wanted wood) but it looks really realistic and it will hold up better to the kitties (mainly I was concerned about barfing). Once it is in the kitties will have to get used to not having carpet - I picture a lot of running and sliding, although they do that already on the tile, so it won't be too bad. One nice thing will be that Lola will look nice agains it since it won't be gray - it is a reddish brown.
Last night I was getting caught up on laundry and doing some cleaning so I didn't get a chance to post - I have a few new pics of the kitties in one of their new hideouts - a tent we got them at Ikea. It is popular for hanging out and playing in. When I was trying to fold the laundry, Barney thought it was a game and kept trying to grab stuff as I kind of flipped it out to make it flat. And as soon as he lost interest Virgil started up. You woudl think they hadn't seen laundry folding before (and Barney hasn't seen much but even he has seen it).
Floyd and Kirzon will be traveling to the vet this weekend - we got a new bigger carrier so that we now have 2 bigger, 1 smaller (fits Virgil and of course Barney), and 2 that I want to replace but will work for all but Floyd - I just am not a fan of them because the kind of collapse into triangles and it is hard to get them to stay up. Unless I need to move all 5 at the same time it should be ok until I replace them. The new one has a leopard print interior and handles - it is very nice and open on the sides (soft sided). I also have a collapsable red one that pops out (like one of those pop up hampers) and I can't find it - it is collapsed somewhere!
The appointment is just their regular check up so I probably won't have any news but if I do I will be sure to post it. I should have some pictures up this evening (with some of the last ugly carpet pictures) so check back then.
Oh, and I have printed a list of all the blogs I follow from both blogger (4 pages!) and google reader (7 pages) so I will be updating as I have time. Everything else make take a bit longer but the list should be up to date by the weekend!

congratulations on the new floor. I hope to do the same someday! I need to update my blog roll but have not figured out how to print all my lists so I can consolidate!
New Flooring?!?!?!? SWEET!!! It's always pawsome to roll around on something new! (You should ask our mom what we do to her clothes!) LOL...
New flooring...yes, our Mommy needs to do that, too. Some day!
Your kitties are so cute, the pics of Barney in the bowl are adorable.
Purrs and hugs,
The Kitty Krew
(not to be confused with our "cousins", The Kool-Kittie-Krew, up there above us -- LOL)
Hi Amy et al!!!
thanks for stopping by Madi and Mom. Madi is MOL (meowing out loud) at Barney helping with laundry!! I love to help change the linens. I bet you all do too.
Have a good evening.
Meows to all,
Madi and Mom
Great news on the flooring. Things will start pulling together in your house now, just you wait and see.
Is it the kind of floor that you skid on when you run fast.. My kitchen floor does that, its good fun..
Enjoy....
Hugs GJ xx
Your kitties will have lots of fun sliding on the new floors -- and yes, it is a lot easier to clean up barf off laminate (or wood) than carpet! Our kitties come flying down the stairs, land on my area rug in the foyer and slide on it across the wood floors -- a margic carpet ride efurry time!
Your new kitty carrier sounds a lot like the one we just got to secure Dylan to his next vet visit -- yes leopard print interior, and padded handles.
We have a wood floor with rugs on it and the cats LOVE it - I think they like it a lot more than the carpet we had in our old place! And it's much easier to clean. Hope both the installation and the vet visit go well.
